Whilst the 458/4 is a really good train when it comes to features and long-distance capabilities, i don't think putting them on metro services like the Weybridge via Hounslow loops would be suitable because now they've reduced acceleration which puts more wear on the motor on making the train move fast enough away from stations which was an issue when they were first entered into service. This also means that the first class will be declassified for most of the time (they could've renamed it as quiet class pre-refurbishment) so there would've been no point cutting off the areas near the drivers cab and keeping the seating layout 2+2 when all you pay extra for is wireless charging and a headrest that tells you how much of a sucker you are to cough up an extra £7 for a retapered standard class. What I'm gonna end with is that the 458/4 should've been put on the Portsmouth Direct Line like they should've (also that the 701s are starting to enter service more!!)
