Wow, there were intact geodes all over the ground! Do you never take the intact ones to break open? I love taking them home and cracking them. It’s half the fun! I’ve got a rock saw coming this week to cut them nicely. 😊

We do :) We only take “shakers” though - but only because we have SO many in the creek to choose from! Geodes are the best :) Have fun cutting rocks!

Love your videos! How do you clean your geodesic with a lot of dirt on the inside?

Great question! I do a nice light power wash spray, followed by a warm Dawn Dish Soap soak for about 24 hours. After that process, I use a toothbrush to scrub the geode. I have a few small picks that I picked up at Harbor Freight to help pick some of the tighter material out. I have to be careful with those picks because they will damage the quartz if I’m not super careful. Once that’s finished, I decide whether or not I want to give them an Iron Out soak. While some geodes look great with that white Iron Out look, I prefer others to look natural. For a nice shine I have a bottle of cleaning spray with bleach and will the geode followed by an immediate toothbrush scrub and a rinse :)
