This is how I make my candied yams. I love using orange zest. Sometimes I’ll even use a tbsp of rum instead of water. Really good

I've watched a lot of candied yam recipes and most were cooked in the oven. I was looking for one that I could do on the stove because I've got a 12 pound ham going in my oven for 3 hours and some white potatoes, I don't have much room left for a pan of candied yams so I'll make your recipe on the stove top. It looks great, I think my Christmas dinner guests will love it.
