Yes it matters because we still have a long way to go to get back to the real BOOM 💥 of the south. JSU shouldn’t be mentioned when you talk about the BOOM!
Nice end to the season but the jukebox got to get back to consistency of greatness not having muddiness and tempo issues like lesser programs. Get back to being a standard bearer not just getting by. Much love to SU 💙💛
Right! They did not play like Southern this year. Very small band/high schoolish. I hope the directors regroup, get in camp, and fix everything that went wrong this year. Their two strongest sections have always been Trumpets and Baritones, but both sections were a major let down. Tubas won section of the year last year and regressed. 🤦🏾♂️ And don’t get me started on Funk Factory. They aren’t funky, and you can’t hear them. 🤦🏾♂️
When the title said "cranks on grambling" , I was expecting to see grambling getting cranked on .. like, where are they ? Back in my day, when we cranked on folk we got in their face so they knew what time it was .. in this video, grambling was on the buses halfway back to the telly eating chicken boxes
no they werent you can clearly here them marching into the lot… and even in the video after the first song you see them trying to line up to play back but the dorectors wouldn’t allow it …. YALL SAY ANYTHING WHEN PROOF BE RIGHT THERE😭😭😭😭
Now that’s a cold clean fresh breath of the rebounding energy and song selection that’s patiently awaited for by the Human JukeBox communities abroad and I have been waiting for. Happy Thanksgiving from my heart to all. Ok and yet again we are still waiting. Make it home safe from all the unfortunate circumstances that I pray is far away from all or anyone. Thanks for the livid love that’s alive from this day and Bayou Classic event. Bye-bye for now. …
They have blown on JSU both times as they were leaving and passing by so what was your point of bringing up JSU irrelevant to this video by the way ..as if they don’t get waxed more by SU then the other way around?? You a whole clown 🤡 for this comment
Alright, yes SU had a "so-so" season this Band Season, but in my opinion all SU really need is another Assistant BD who can compliment Director of Bands Dr. Kedric Taylor, Assistant DOB Kenneth Collins, and possibly even Assistant DOB Cedric Todd from an arranging standpoint, someone who can tie the group together. As far as Funk Factory is concerned, they may need an Assistant Percussion Instructor who can double as the Drumline Director for FF, breathing new life into FF and making them live up to the "FUNK" in Funk Factory, cause whereas JSU WT is Groovy, SU FF needs to be just that: Funky. Plus, I only see Funk Factory reverting to the 12-12-6-6(12 snares, 12 Zs(cymbals), 6 tenors, 6 basses)setup that started when Haymer was over the Human Jukebox. But, in y'all opinion, if a shake-up with SU band staff does happen, who would be a great addition(s) to compliment Dr. Taylor and Co.?
Let Todd go. Keep Kenneth as he has potential in his arrangements, but Taylor has to help sharpen his sword. Abdul has to get full control over the d-section, as has he has marched in some of the best years of the funk factory. He knows the program in and out. Wil Rawlins is the choice. A former juke (under doc/the golden years), a JFK graduate and New Orleans band legend. You can’t get anymore “S” than him. He’ll bring in recruitment like no other, while pushing the “S” forward. If all else fails, you have to get Haymer back for reasons not just band related. He is a leader and teaches kids the discipline it takes to succeed in life. He has made mistakes, but we all have. A redemption is necessary. Not to mention nobody on this current staff (other than Taylor) can touch his pen COMBINED.
@@bluesbros99 Who is Abdul and what could he bring to the Funk Factory Drumline?(Unless of course you're talking about Safiyy Abdel-Raoof, one of the Assistant BDs at Southern University)
@@dre9926yea bro, I’m referring to safiyy (spell check). But as far as Rawlins, this is just a small percentage of his work. High schoolers pushing a wall of sound. He is the choice. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3fxTM7elwd8.htmlsi=4yHfhvMRD8T4nqgT ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YvnOzBXIItE.htmlsi=ql_ogMTIJRh8VR1b ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_pZHSigKbyU.htmlsi=RGs6QwmUM1xQOTaR
Southern be bullying the heck out of grambling lol like they the little brother. JSU is The cousin SU can’t stand and ASU is the “Auntie” SU don’t like to be around lol
What happened Inside? This Whole battle was 🗑🗑 They need to add more bands just Su and GSU not working anymore.... No one is trying to pay money to see GSU get beat on... Very disappointed in Southern this year.. Whatever going on in house please fix it This not the Southern I once knew...
It's the bayou classic. It's the battle of the 2 bands before the game on Saturday happens every year. I'm quite sure your favorite band have their classics. So why would they add other bands to the classic when its 2 football teams playing?👀yall just say anything.
Shit, with this asinine statement, ask to bring back B. Simmons. Kenneth’s pen is deadly, so how can you fix your Twitter fingers to even place his name in this statement baffles me
Sign a petition to get Haymer back. The arrangements isn’t there. No dynamics, no up to date playlist, no songs that has stood out from the rest since haymer. Nothing. I understand it takes a min to build the program. But at SU, the program is already established. All they need is great arrangements, play with dynamics and play NEW music that people can understand what they’re playing vs guessing.
Who’s ever decision It was to have that lady up there singing “I just want to praise you”, needs to be fired. Nothing wrong with doing a gospel song, but you couldn’t even hear the band play. Two, she was really not that good. I’m lying, she was horrible.
@@honestsagittarius4566”credentials”?? Maurette Brown Clark IS the artist that released “Just Want To Praise you”. It’s HER song. She a also was core member, and a lead vocalist of the legendary Richard Smallwood. You can feel how you feel. Not trying to change your mind. But she is not some random singer that they found off the street. That was her song that she performed along with Southern.
@@Sagacious_X I was disappointed in that bayou classic from both, all three of these songs should have been used in the battle. I don't expect much from Grambling but SU should be better than this. Songs selections has been SU's biggest enemy
