I'm a big fan of the HBCU marching bands and I've seen FAMU, NC A&T, Jackson State, Grambling, Norfolk State and many others. Out of all the awesome drum majors at these fine institutions, this brother at Southern is the sharpest and smoothest I've every seen. And he's leading an exceptional group of fine young musicians and dancers. They always look and play so tight and crisp. Athens truly experienced something special that afternoon! Keep up the great work Human Jukebox!

These people and their comments the JUKEBOX have always been the measuring stick and we continue to the set the standard representing ourselves 1st always then as a whole, this display was nothing short out of the normal just this crowds 1st time witnessing 🙄✌🏾️

Yup this nothing new we been shinning like this but not like other band we set class and sexiness we are mesmerizing SU will never come in ratchet we may come in knocking your pictures off the wall but we will never disappoint you. But this isn't anything new SU been like this but that's bc ppl don't know any better you you don't know better if SU hasn't been ya Top 5 since the 90s and that's how long they been like this so some of been sleep for I don't know how long cause this ain't just started over night SU came out the wound like that

This was a great year. Southern blew Georgia's ears out, Grambling hit the Quan at Cal, and the Boom did Da Show at UNLV.

@Daniel Bell Two schools of different caliber players on the field, I'm sure you know match ups like this is usually a payday for the smaller school, in this case, Southern, and a chance for UGA to fine tune some of their plays and get their second and third string some game time reps, I highly doubt anyone from Southern, players withheld, expected them to win this game.

0:00 - 2:15 I know I've said this before, but I believe that DT should dress more professionally or more like she's part of the band rather than looking more like she's a spectator walking along side the band. It's obvious that Dr. Haymer and his assistants are with the band by their dress. I have a lot of respect for DT as the Dolls' director and a former 2-time Dolls' captain. If the Dolls are such an integral part of the Human Jukebox, then as the Dolls' director, DT should look and be treated as such. Nevertheless, I don't know what the proper "Human Jukebox" protocol is, so I'll hush for now.

Not sure what you mean but this is just the march in - meaning just drum cadences and marching to reach the inside of the stadium. Those familiar with the band and actually having heard them play, consider them to be one of the premier collegiate bands in the USA. You should look up some of their performances, I think you will enjoy them very much.

@@honeydip6355 It’s not the level of education that I was talking about, it’s the level of class. Grown men, especially those with doctorates, should dress with class, meaning simple uniforms or suits or blazers, not trying to be flashy, which makes them silly and appear below their status. They are men of quality, they don’t have to play dress up to prove it. Gold braid and general’s hats say, “look at how great I am” True men of class and dignity don’t have to try to appear great, people know it by the work they do and what they achieve, not by how much gold they’re wearing.

georgiamule I get what you’re saying to a point . It can be seen as cockiness to the unknowing . But In their program and training ( which is BRUTAL btw ) The Band is likened to an ARMY OF 1 BAND 1 Sound . You fight one ...you fight them all . As said in the Military I got your 6 . They Pride themselves on Order , Loyalty , Discipline , & Honor ...therefore Generals of their Flock . I don’t see a problem with it . And many HBCU bands do the same . Doesn’t bother me and calling it “ SILLY “ was a bit much .

I love the sound of the Southern band, but those snare drums need tuning and that cadence marching in needs to be updated. Still a great band but the SWAC drumlines as a whole are average asf.

Former percussionist....it's easier to play on flam heads ...Southern play on traditional clear heads....and have the most crispt snare line....also where I went Virginia State University we have one of the best drumlines around ...you tried it though 😤

Truthfully close up they sound like garbage but from far away its sound crisp and clean just like the bass drum horrible close up but sounds like an 808 far away
