When I recorded this video, we were pretty well writing off fall harvest 2024. It was terribly dry with no rain in the forecast, and temperatures were about to stay over 100 degrees for 5-6 days again. However, never one to rest on my laurels, I decided to go out with our little pull type spot sprayer and apply some foliar nutrients to the soybeans to see if it would help them hold on through the heat. I applied a little bit to every one of our soybean fields just to see if we see a difference in how long the lasted in the drought/heat, or if/when we caught a rain, how much better would these soybeans be at harvest. Its easy to mix up, and I believe it plays well with some other things you could mix in a sprayer tank with it. For this application however, I just ran it alone with water/ams/surfactant at a total of 5.5 gal/acre. It was easy and fast. Hopefully I'll have some results to share later in the season!
Thankfully, on 7/31 at the 11th hour, we finally got the rain we were so desperately needing. The soybeans may not be a bumper crop, but at least we're going to have a fall harvest (knocks on wood).
If you have any questions, please let me know in the comments, and if you have a tips and tricks for a newb sprayer operator, please let me know as well!
