Second up in the Hooded Nib series is a Soyuz "Golden Feather". This is a true Parker 51-influenced pen. This particular pen entered my awareness some time ago with another video review of it. I loved the cap and the filling so decided I had to have one. This video series finally got me around to restoring it. It's actually quite straight forward and easy to repair - mainly some soaking and cleaning without much fuss about anything that's finicky or needing special tools. The only questionable replacement part is the accordion portion itself - would have to see if I can source such an accordion sac if needed. Luckily this one was intact and working well, so I didn't have to worry about that aspect.
I did make a flub in my putting-back-together of the pen, which I caught during the editing process, so there is a little bit of a splice that will be obvious.
Overall the pen wrote very well with a very fine nib that has a bit of fun springiness. Combined with the excellent size, large ink capacity, and comfortable section/hood, this pen makes for a very comfortable, go-to writer. I'll actually be looking forward to carrying this around with a Parker 51 and seeing how the feeling of each pen compares.
