no clue why but when companies try to emulate the soldano i absolutely love em man. holy hell. guitar rigs version is killer, this version is killer also. when i read about this feature being put into the 404 i knew it was gonna be great. roland amp sims were dope to me always. you could always dial up a good tone. might not be exactly whatever its modeling but man i love that you can always dial up a good tone. great vid homie!!

I really really didn't expect it to have this when I first got it (I didn't even know what I was getting...) and was really skeptical, got my Amp Sim tones for in Reason and on the iRig / Amplitube n they took a long time to figure out...THIS took minutes. Esp once to start layering the reverb which they got different types of now n they're lusciously stereo. On top of that you can play the beat on one pad and record the guitar to another....shit's craaaaazy

I really like the sequencer - it’s def much better than on the 404sx/a…and 303 - but I also really like them too. Problem is it takes practice to get to know the feel of a 404 sequencer…I’ve spent hours practicing recording 1 bar patterns (just record, erase n repeat) while watching tv n now it’s easy for me. I don’t know any instrument that doesn’t require paying dues with a metronome…I guess. New things it does is you can duplicate say a 2 bar pattern to a 4 bar pattern, also you don’t need to use a count in anymore which is nuts, when you setup the pattern to rec you hear the metronome n it will start recording the pattern when you start hitting pads.
Just wanted to say i love your vids fam. I just got an mkii after just frustration with the older version. They fixed a lot and all your vids highlight what they got right. Imma use ur advice in a prior comment and struggle thru learning the sequencer, and duplicating pads. Its a different thing to wrap my mind around. But for what this thing offers sound wise, its worth the struggle. 💪🏾

I'm not an electric guitarist, I'm a bassist. But goddamn jamming bass through the amp sim on a sampled beat though?💦 I already ordered the mk2 a few weeks ago. Thank you for making all these videos on the mk2, great guitar playing!

I know! I also use a an iRig with Amplitube on an iPad. For what it’s worth, I can use MK2 (no amp sim, just as an input / interface) instead of the iRig to run my guitar into the iPad / Amplitube.

You're a great player man - do more honest and shows what the amp sim can do which is awesome... ill be using it on distorted basses I expect but shows how good the SP is for the money!! I’ve noticed the volume for the guitar is so low compared to my drum samples Especially when going for a clean sound. Any advice on this? Would a preamp pedal between the guitar and the 404 help?
Hmmm…usually I turn the gain up on the input only slightly until just before it starts to break - for a cleaner type sound I lean towards the Twin with it’s gain like 30-48ish…can be tough to get more volume on it with out making it dirty. I’m not sure if a preamp pedal would help coz that might heat up the input…I’m not sure what to suggest sorry.
Haha I know what you mean, I was surprised how easily I could dial in them sounds. I really like using the JC amp model on my P Bass. Sorta rounds it off n makes it smoother.
Can you apply the Amp Sim effects to an already recorded guitar loop? Or can you only apply those effects to something being recorded directly from guitar into the SP?
That's awesome. Is the input effect separate from the 4 busses? ie can you be using 3 and 4 on the master, 1 and 2 on something eelse, and the input fx on the input?
Dope, I’ve been using the JC amp on my P Bass - it’s nice and round, you can get a pretty gnarly overdriven bass with the Marshall too. A few people have asked me about bass today, I’ll see what I can do about a demo…
@@Nonjuror for lofi stuff, honestly i never needed any sans amp. I just plugged into the sp. Something about the way the input works just gave it a really good sound. I even started doing that when recording in ableton 😂 just gave it a little more presence idk haha
Hold Shift + EXT Source then press in the Enter knob to load Input FX. Then scroll across EFX Type to Gt Amp Sim. As far as I know it’s only on the input.
Hahaha it is tho! I really dig the mk2 but it doesn’t make my 303 any less fun to work on. That said, if you’re looking to do live guitar n bass recording on your beats, mk2 is fkn crazy guitar friendly.
Sounds super dope for a guitar plugged in straight into the box. I see you have a reverb on a bus. Can you resample just that bus output? Let's say, you're playing a beat you made, and you wanna record a solo/chords over it via GuitarAmp -> Reverb. Could this be possible?
If you want to can assign the guitar to just the Bus 2 effect (say Reverb) and have the beat (can be a pattern too) still able to use the Bus 1 effect (for example) what resampling all that to a pad.
Ah, that is a little bit trickier, I don’t think you can beat the beat and record guitar to it’s own pad but I do have a workaround for that - if you pan the beat full left, guitar full right, you will be resampling like that to the pad. Once you’re done recording you then set that pad to now mono just what is in the right channel. You now have a guitar recording by itself that cues up perfectly with the beat…not ideal way of doing it but it still easy enough
yo, could you demo the 'auto pitch' vocal effect? it really seems like EVERY creator is skipping over this, aside from sarah2ill, whom barely showed it and recorded with some kind of room mic... This is potentially a huge decision-factor for me; gonna be really upset if it's literally just the pitch-shift effect when it's being marketed as more of an 'auto-tune' feature
Interesting, I haven’t tested it out coz my singing voice is not something for public consumption…I’ll check it out n if I think I can do something without embarrassing myself more than usual I will!
