Being a DJ, I was toying with the idea of somehow getting hardware effects from my SPMK2 to a track in a DAW, but then having a couple of Pioneer DJ gear with the Beat FX (its hardware effects), I wondered if I could get those effects into plugin form. Seems that the RMX-1000 would be the way, but I found I could only get it as hardware, and even the software plugin apparently requires the hardware. It would be nice to get the hardware effects into tracks on a DAW, but I’ve not tried yet so not sure how easy that would be, as I would probably have to get the effect recorded within the audio. This video is giving me a little education; thanks for that.
Thanks for the vid. Very nice. Didn't know there was a new one out there. I've only recently had the chance to check out the SP-404SX and it was awesome. I am looking forward on how it'll do during livesets in comparison with the RMX-1000, which I actually am aiming for by mid next year. This one however (although not available (yet) here in the Netherlands), has a huge chance to take that spot in my DJ booth instead of the RMX-1000. Mainly because it's way smaller and it also looks a bit more durable. Thanks for the demo. I hope they will release and orange version, because hey, I'm Dutch :)
I was wondering why you bought the RMX-1000 when you had the 404. I originally put it down to GAS, good to hear some actual reasons.. :P Oh, do you think there's any chance that Roland will add some sort of quantised live looping to the 404? All it needs is to be able to sync recording with a pattern loop and it would be so much more useful for jamming.
Hey Liam, thanks for another great video, I always enjoy watching your content! Your audio is clipping at times I think. After wrestling myself with Shotcut for a video (trying to get into the RU-vid thing), I'm wondering what software you're using to edit your videos? Any pointers would be helpful because your videos are always the best. Thanks!
MPC can multitrack, export stems, can master song completely in the box versus 404 which has a great lo-fi factor, awesome FX, and fun to play. Tough call.
Rmx 1000 ➕ kaossilator might be O.T.Fly . Op-z visuals . I'm still trying to fit my piano fingers on that plus if you demo in slow motion I'll get it quickly mr. Super synth hero ☆¿?
