The 2009 Blue Devils Hornline in their brass lot on semi-finals night. Audio recorded with an edirol recorder and video captured with a digital camera.
I am more of a fan of traditional style marching, but you cannot help but appreciate what these guys do. This is absolutely amazing. It certainly gave me chills.
I play alto saxophone, but even I have to say, these guys (brass) are superior sounding in an ensamble. Especially in a corp like this....Absolutly amazing
I love the feeling you get at the end of the video! I can't describe it - something like raw power, strength, the spirit of brass... energy, teamwork? It's indescribable how beautiful and powerful this is. God, imagine if you were right in front of them!!
That gets me every year, especially during Finals!... such goose bumps when they wipe out to the last 7 power chords! So close you can feel the air being pushed out from everybody :~] Nice recording.
I had a director back in high school that was a huge DCI fan boy and we did warm ups like this. He demanded a higher standard from us and boy did we produce. I had more fun in marching band in high school than I did in college.
You know as soon as they were given the instruction to put their horns down every single one of them were glaring at the trumpet section because of that one trumpet holding out that last note to long xD
I about cried when I heard that first note...That bass sound was AMAZING, I'm so used to hearing really top-heavy music, this was a real treat. Thank you!
I love this very superior brass sound!!! Love the dynamic contrast and the ability to not only play at a high dynamic but also keep the quality and lack the action of overplaying!! Outstanding Job!!
Wow... that was incredible! I play tenors and snare, but I can still respect an amazing sound like that. Every aspect of the Blue Devils just blow my mind!
I'm a freshman in High School and I've been thinking about joining DCI. But I was a bit disappointed to learn I had to switch from Trombone to Baritone. I didn't want to do it, but then I saw this, now I'm saving money to buy a marching Baritone because THIS is worth the switch. This is just epic.
