Still loving the series. Again, I like how you explain the functions of the blocks. Used the information to make a refining/sorting system in my game. So cool!

This "Hinge Timer" is currently my favorite. It offers sooo much more than just a place to set up small grid timers. Thanks for that little tid-bit. 😉🍻

When welding the refineries, couldn’t you just weld from the top, instead of going between them and it being so tight? I found that for a single structure you can weld it from any side, top or bottom. I found out when I was using my jet pack. Wouldn’t it be the same with the welding ship as using the hand welder from all sides?

@comcastjohn yes. 😆 I probably should have

I see the “in” sorters and the cargo containers. But how are you getting the ingots out from there to the assemblers? I didn’t see a return sorter line to get them to the assemblers, Is there a whole new sorting line to them? I am only two weeks old and am trying to learn. Love your videos and subbed btw.

@ 5:21 ish I show the outlet. It is set to black list with nothing selected. This means it will let anything pass thru it. This sorter is only functioning as a one-way valve that can be shut off. It let's the assembler take resources when the inlet isn't cleaning ore and ingots out of the system. When the inlet is draining ore from the system, the outlet is shut off so that the drain isn't looping items from its own inventory rather than cleaning.

I do sorting management on my bases too. Like your style, though.

Thanks! I love using sorters. I'm building to a point where I can implement some truly amazing creations using logistics and the event controller.

Now only if welding ships were more efficient 😢

Interesting... I just have a sorter that pulls ore from mining ships into ore cargo. Then an ingot sorter to pull ingots from refineries into ingot storage. A gravel sorter to dump gravel overboard from refineries to stop them jamming. And a component sorter to pull comps from my assemblers so they don't clog either. Standard 4 sorter system, never clogs... :) I sometimes add a reflux sorter to flush ingots from assemblers back into ingot storage, but it isn't that vital (and creates a loop). I'm assuming that dividing ores and ingots into types with their own containers is just for fun?? :)

Could you explain in more detail your setup to remove ingots from the assembler? Or any sorter to work with the assembler for that matter. It just does not work for me :) thanks.

you can weld it up by placing down welders on the build

I am an Army veteran, you can’t be efficient without logistics! 😎🫡
