Just ordered the Eisenhorn series because of the game. What's frustrating for me as a novice coming in is "where the hell am I at any point in the lore?" I'd like to read about >insert character
My advice is to read the Horus heresy books! They don’t talk a lot about the current lore but will help you gain the foundation needed to understand it. If you google “Horus heresy book order” there’s a reddit post that will pop up and in the comments there’s a link to page that has a timeline order chart of where to start. I read the Emperors Children book line first and it helped me understand SO MUCH. Then after that pick a chapter you like in 40k and just start reading their books or watching lore videos.
