12:20 We actually got Titus lore and the 100 years gap explained in a White Dwarf magazine. The Inquisitor that took him iirc imprisoned and experimented on Titus because he was fascinated by his resistance to the warp. The Ultramarines chapter was trying to get Titus back into their ranks this whole time and considered the fact that Inquisition took him unlawful. The Inquisitor ignored their messages. Eventually the Inquisitor was eliminated by other inquisitors after they deemed his actions heretical and they freed the Space Marines he was experimenting on. Titus, thinking that Ultramarines have never contacted the Inquisition and didn't want him back, decided to become a Blackshield. Members of the Deathwatch who conceal the chapter they're from, sort of disowning themselves. He spent decades in service of the Deathwatch, and Ultramarines eventually assumed he was dead. They end up finding him wounded, giving him the primaris treatment and reinstating him into the chapter. The demotion to the rank of lieutenant isn't supposed to be any sort of penance or punishment as many people think. The position of a captain of 2nd company was simply taken by other people for over a century, and demoting the current captain to get Titus his old rank would've been unfair/in bad taste. EDIT: It was in White Dwarf issue 498. I've read this months ago and might've got some details wrong, so look it up if you want the 100% correct version of events
Damn that actually is kinda wholesome in a sense, I always thought that they disowned him afterwards when he became a blackguard so it’s nice to hear it was actually the opposite
The inquisitor was actually possessed by a demon during a purge of a heretical cult and killed by a Grey Knight under his command to stop the demon. it was only after his death that the inquisition launched an investigation into what exactly he was doing.
i took the red pill from you , while suffering from a terminal cancer , having 3 weeks to live ,,,, two years , and several tens of books later , (eisenhorn omnibus, ravenor, ultramarine, greyknights, daemonworld,) i am so happy to say that i have only scratched the entrance of the rabbit hole .. u gave me something to live for man ,, i remember watching your Plague Song break down ,, looking at the nurgles ,, while chemo slowly chewed away my ex martial artist in shape body and replaced it with a golum ,,, and it gave me something to live for ... i dont know whether the grandfather blessed me or not but that 15cm huge tumour in my chest shrank and the hacked at me and took the remnant away ,," so yeah here i am in a weird way .. alive .. thanks partly to you ..thanks man
I don't know you understand, surviving Terminal cancer is very rare. Statistically surviving late stage 4 cancer ( Terminal period), is so rare that it's just like surviving a bullet in the head.
@@Counterpoints im clean so far .they took it out after it shrank .so theoritically im cured .( mediastinal germcell tumour ) there is always a chance that it can come back ..im just glad to be alive :)
40k brings me out of my depression a lot of times. I hope you make it a little longer bro. You've made it this far, but I'll warn you if you start buying models then your medical bills will seem like a $1 menu order on a munchies high lol
Many new fans will ask why regular human infantry's standard issue laser rifle is so weak? It is because this "weak" laser rifle has caused extinction of 90% of alien races, and now the human is fighting those cant be killed easily by a laser shot or by a thousand laser shots....
I commend you for the accuracy and succinctness of your descriptions, especially the one-sentence rundown of each Space Marine faction. Well done, sir.
A correction: The Inquisition does not actually answer to the High Lords. They are an organization that exists completely outside the jurisdiction of the Adeptus Administratum. They answer only to the Emperor and themselves.
Been trying to understand warhammer for sometime now . For some reason this is the only video I was able to watch till the end and actually understand and learn more ! Thank you
@@santiagocar6674it was a teaser by a fan of Warhammer. He was hired by GW after his famous RU-vid video “the Astartes Project”. It was so good, they pretty much strongarmed him to join. Haven’t heard from him or about him since.
In regards to the Primaris: Some authors had already decades ago laid the ground work storywise that the contemporary 40k Astartes have biologically degraded which reduced their stature and capabilities compared to the 40k Legionaires. E.g it once being common that the transformation process would turn the boy looks wise into an almost to direct copy of his father Primarch. In short, it would be best if GW and the writers just make the Primaris be callbacks to the Legionaires of old and that the additional modifications are merely a necessary patchwork because Cawl couldnt get the job done otherwise .
Good video I sent it to a couple of buddies so they could learn some lore before space marines 2 drops kinda wish u spent more time describing each chapter but the summary for each was spot on
Same I have about 1500 pts worth of kill teams I've made for deathwatch a lot of love and thought went into each design and how I planned to play the model went into each design as well I lost my mind when I saw the deathwatch right shoulder and gauntlet 🤯
it is important to notice that there is a coincidence between the born of slanesh and the war against the man machines, if I remember well it is suggested that the rise of the gods of chaos caused the machine rebelion, I think so.
What I love so much about 40k, aside form the ever decaying baroque imperium aesthetic, is the way the setting subverts the usual sci fi horror trope of meeting super advanced aliens with godlike genetic monstrosities that hunt and destroy without mercy; that’s the humans and I love that.
Most of us played the frist game of space marine i think we all know what we are doing Conner....point your bolter and shoot and hack and slash with your chainsword.. nothing more too it...for the emperor!!!!!
the deathwatch is good stuff, also theres an ttrpg game (also a PC/mobile game as well) that focuses on them so another reason why i know so much about em.. honestly always wanted to play that game cause you can be a dreadnought which is fun c: as for my favourite chapter its between Blood angels and Salamanders, honestly i like most of the chapters equally so its hard to pick a favourite cause it changes
All Helldivers from the SE Legion have been ordered to withdraw Sept. 5th 2024. Intergalactic Space Command has already deployed Space Marines for transitional egress. Helldivers will recover and await further orders. That is all.
I CAN NOT WAIT for this game, I love the table top and all the books! The lore is GREAT (for the most part)…but the games are something better! Being able to FEEL and SEE the world❤❤
Man I really hope that the PVP will have different legions having different powers. Like Death Guards being tanky as hell or World Eaters are insane at melee. It's gonna be horrible to balance though but it would be so cool. You can play the Alpha Legion similar to the Spy in TF2, invisible, disguise as teammates then backstab.
Now this is a background check to get people up to speed on the crazy WH40k lore, great work man.... Hopefully the game is as awesome as the first one.
My army for 40k is the salamanders and i have 2 marines who i made former members of Deathwatch, one is a terminator and the other is a primaris marine with a shotgun
I hope space marine 2 comes out with all of the space marine chapter skins I'd love to see ravenger, crimson fists, white templars and all the other Un mentioned chapters added in cause there is alot of the loyalists chapters and for multi-player chaos chapters would be cool to see as well
Wait, do Tyranids know how to construct and fly space ships? Does that mean some tyranids are specifically just engineer's and not fighters? As with how many Tyranids there are, they'd need thousands of ships right
1 Bioships, the use of living and gigantic tyranids as ships. 2 the tyranids are just one mind, they have more special forms like the queens that give birth to the countless masses of tyranids in each hive fleet, but they don't use technologies, everything in them is alive. 3 we do not know, they come from outside the galaxy and therefore, it is impossible to specify their number as more hive fleets assault the galaxy from different points and grow in number with each planet they consume.
One wonders, if the God Emperor is a Perpectual, wouldn't it be better overall for him to die and be reborn so that he might actually aid his people versus just being a beacon with the occasional physic boon to some Saint or another? Yeah, in the short term, no one can really go anyway via Warp Travel, but odds are you can't do that anyway what with all the Chaos going on there at times. Just a thought.
It's a lot more complicated. If the Emperor dies, TERRA GOES BOOM! And the astronomicon is so much more important than people think. Even if the Emperor could come back, the amount of damage cause would be too drastic to remotely justify.
If he die all the communication and warp travel systems will be offline and all the imperium will be in total chaos but if he respawn a couple of hours or days it can go well but if it take years the imperium will be destroyed by everything
idk about you @Counterpoints40k , but when i played GOW I wasn't cowering behind walls...i was bouncing off them destroying dudes like you & and tap dancing on your insides...
