Its also peak mediocrity sadly, ever looked at the backgrounds? ugly 2D sprites You cant really immersive yourself in the game either cause many dumb moments take you out of it like when you escort the cool looking Leman Russ tank that doesn't fire. Yup. Wow, such fun. A TANK that isn't doing ANYTHING. Amazing! Now before you normies tell me "but it fires!" Yes, it fires at scripted places and apart from that uses 1 out of its 3 bolters a small bit and then stops, just looking at you and only fires AFTER you kill everything so you can proceed through the level. Amazing Or near the beginning of the game when you help the imperial guard defend and then go inside while the ramp/door closes? Yeah invisible kill field outside, enemies just turn into ragdolls Whole game is a mess if you enjoy singleplayer since it screams multiplayer at you every minute cause the bots are beyond stupid and got 95% dmg resistance while doing absolutely nothing to aid the player. You as the player have to kill meele enemies, snipe all ranged enemies before they snipe you and enemy AI will priorize killing you. Wowie such fun, totally not tedious guys. Then the campaign is only 6H long and the bots in the mode where you level and so on...1/5 of my kills was what the bots did. BLEH, mediocre games get rated well just cause "manly" and cause Warhammer games are rare. What a shame.
I find it hilarious that a game that plays like it got straight out of 7th gen is far more successful than the usual $100.000.000 corporate slop that is designed to bleed you dry.
If we're being real the only thing that has improved largely with games since the xbox 360 era is graphics. A lot of modern games play worse than games from 10 years ago did.
Could someone please explain to me why having a black guy and a asian guy in a video game is bad. They don't even talk about it. They're just not white
The games industry is so bad right now that a sequel with minor but solid gameplay improvements to a decade-old game brings more value to the player than billion-dollar, AAA studio releases.
As long as it works. Good games do not always need to be complex or that big of an improvement. Many fail to get that. People that liked the first game, whats more of the first game, not something completely new. Upgrades are fine.
@@EcardEcardian A ton of AAA companies could have a bunch more irons in the fire if they held that perspective. We could have 20 solid games per year rather than 5 sprawling open worlds, filled to the brim with slop. Integration hell is routinely the hardest part of any software development.

@@FlamespeedyAMVI hate the small hats and DEI as much as the next guy but this video was embarrassing. Guy knows nothing about 40k lore and is crying about DEI. Actual moron.
The one negative thing I can say about Space Marine 2 that I know most people will simply brush away, is that it's yet another always-online even for single player game that has come out. People are more and more happy and willing to turn a blind eye to egregious DRM practices if the game provides them enough entertainment in the moment, but if at some point the devs or publisher go under, or for any other reason they stop running servers, the game will be rendered unplayable for the rest of time.
I don’t think I will get Space Marines 2 until it’s goes for $30 or $40. But I’m really having fun with Astro Bot game it reminds me of Spyro, Crash and Mario games which I really like. So hopefully Sony lets the devs make more Astro Bot games in the future.
I haven't been in awe at the cutscenes for years. Now we march out with Cadians, Marines Armor and Dreadnought going Spartan on a ChaosDreadnought, the Banner fortified stand.....very Patriotic.
3:55 maybe it looks comical, but that's something Space Marines are totally capable of - they possess the agility of Jackie Chan and speed of Usain Bolt, while tactical power armour is actually only enhancing those in many ways.
lmao this game managed to be the best, most faithful legacy sequel on the market right now, beating DD2, AC6, and *more* just by being a 7/10, almost 6/10, game like the original was. That’s all it takes to make us happy, but they can’t even do that consistently anymore.
@@reinsmano It’s not completely unfaithful but all the staggering stuff is just lifted from Sekiro, even if previous entries had similar, almost beta versions of those mechanics. There’s also way less parts
@@reinsmano In the older AC games, missions weren't replayable until the end of the game, so credits were a limiting factor in AC design, but more parts were available on the shop at the start instead of being unlocked through story progress. Parts could always be sold back for 100% of their cost (like in AC6), so you had to rely on economical parts in the early game until you could afford an upgrade. It felt very rewarding to earn better parts by keeping repair and ammo expenses to a minimum, and failing missions was quite punishing.
It’s not “woke”, if you read the books there’s are SO many strong female characters and the boys in blue have the most diverse legion out of all of them. It’s literally mentioned in the books. It’s not “propaganda” , it’s genuine lore.
@@thebuddah1253 No, he was implying that the game was trying to make 40k woke. Which also implies that the source material doesn’t contain this kind of content. The source material does. The devs weren’t trying to be woke. He just doesn’t understand the lore.

I did this on Angel Of Death with a few friends and good god, the enemies are so spongy to gunfire, that the bolters just feel like pieces of shit. The regular sniper rifle needs like 4-5 shots to kill a warrior (I remind you that you only have like 16 shots to begin with), so literally only the hyper-specialised guns are remotely good.

20:15 Whether or not the ultramarine's original ethnicity shows depends on the chapter, actually. Some of the geneseeds override it completely (like the Blood Angels) while others don't really (Ultrasmurfs).
No gene seed overrides race, they just have their worlds, blood Angels are meant to look like vampires so they all are pale because generally their planets are mostly white.
Blood Angels, Raven Guard, Salamanders, and Night Lords have skin mutations. But as the long war continues weirdo chapters like the Exorcists from Dorns gene seed and their demon possession sometimes makes them look like slaanesh worshipers lol. Hell Night Lords recruit from anyone so a night lord might have Night lord colors but was from a traitor chapter.

@mkultra2456 it's funny as you have been going about fighting for your life down here. I meant it seriously, who are the bots you guys talk about? Like, what makes someone a bot?
In regards to the black space marines it's in line with lore, sort of. Space marines aren't cloned or grown from gene-seed. Gene-seed is actually a collection of organs derived from their primarch, flaws included, that are grafted into an aspirant who may or may not become a space marine. Space marines recruit from hardy worlds and only vanishingly few survive the process because medical technology in 40k is backwards as all hell. So nothing really stops a kid being plucked from their homeworld and being inducted as a space marine regardless of ethnicity. The only problem with this might be that the Ultramarine coreworlds are basically modeled after ancient Rome and so they're of course going to be white. But unless the stated goal was for diversity points, it's alright as far as canon is concerned.
She's clearly designed with a stereotypical Indian phenotype, to deny it is just silly; you could say the same thing for a character that looks mexican, or chinese, or russian etc.
@@jollyfatman1847 Is that so? Damn, I guess whomever designed her didn't use any distinguishable ethnicities as reference for her design, nope. As if fictional characters were made in a vacuum lol.
The woke issue you pointed out is not actually a woke issue. Gene seed isn't exclusive to any race and can be put into anyone the chapter chooses. As far as a chapter is concerned if you live on their recruitment world and can pass the brutal trials you can become an started and join the chapter. Also as far as having female leaders in 40k it's also a precedent from before wokeness was really a thing IIRC. To rise in the ranks in the guard you only need to survive long enough and show unreserved loyalty and zeal to the emperor. Women in real life who participate in extreme ideologies such as the Imperium's tend to become incredibly zealous and radical. So to me it all makes sense. Considering the way things have been through the last decade I can see why someone would see wokeness.
One of the geneseeds alters the Marine's melanin levels to adjust to the environment though. Meaning the African, Celtic, Asian and Aryan Marines should all have the same skin colour.
@@GangsterFrankensteinComputer I just had to look it up: holy moly! xD thats hilarious! I was wondering about the black salamanders but apparently they have malfunctioning organs that make it so that their melanin levels are at a constant 100% So if we would want to be actually lore accurate: Considering most space marines we see are in their armor most of the time, with no exposure to the sun, they would be extremely pale. And when they take off their helmets you should see their head change skincolor in realtime appropriately to the suns exposure xD

The variety in the race of astartes is kind of explainable cause chapters can recruit from different worlds which can have different races. The Space Marine diversity was more offensive than the IG woman. At least that's technically possible; Spacemarines of the same chapter should look like brothers. If you want black space marines, there are chapters which could be black, like the Salamanders, but Ultramarines should look like Greeks or Romans (pre-Mohammed)
@@andryuu_2000 Yes they do. Specifically, the Melanochrome organ controls pigmentation of the skin in response to radiation exposure. A mutation in this organ causes Salamanders to be very dark skinned, and Blood Angels and Ravenguard to be very pale skinned. The Melanochrome of the Ultramarines functions normally, so they can be dark skinned in response to excessive radiation exposure, but this would either be the whole squad, or it would be considered an accident and would be a plot point. Finally, most Space Marine aspirants die in the process of accepting the geneseed. Those who are closer to the Primarch are more likely to succeed, which would lead to a more homogeneous look.

Show me a white-skinned Salamander chapter, or a dark-skinned Ravenguard chapter. Hell, even the Carcharodons, essentially space Fijians, are described as pale-skinned. You are just wrong.
You don't know how gene seed works. While some legions/chapters will take on superficial aspects of their primarchs (Salamanders, Night Lords, Emperors Children) Not all of them do. Ultramarines being one of them. They also recruit from 500 planets within the Ultramar system. If any non fleet based chapter were to be diverse, it is the Blueberries. Synth is no lore expert but he admits that. It's one thing to point out the accurate lore and another to get pissy because of the inaccuracy or, more likely, your political leanings. And while there is indeed diversity in 40K, particularly Ultramar/the Ultramarines, it is one thing to point that out from a lore standpoint and another to be such an unintelligent drone to as to not even acknowledge the modern state of politics and DEI in games. I don't even think Space Marine 2 was leaning particularly toward exploiting DEI, if even doing so at all, but if you don't think gaming nowadays is so saturated in its corporate culture as to make fitting diversity and DEI at least plausibly difficult to separate I don't know what to tell you.
I mean he is talking about Space marines 2 though. I understand many franchises add diversity simply to check boxes but a lot of people are annoyed because Synth is saying this game is doing it too. I just think he shouldn't speak on a topic he hasn't researched, since he clearly stated he thinks W40K is going in a "dangerous direction" with wokeness just cause he saw different raced space marines.
