Yes, Space Marine 2 is totally worth every penny. I did the campaign in 9 hours, because I had to keep staring at all the Easter eggs faithful to the lore. Plus there’s a private PvE mode coming soon, for operations. And PvP. Plus a whole year of free content, extra maps, missions, weapons and enemies.

Single player campaign is short but sweet. I have no regrets.

I think it comes down to this game was for MEN who want a MASCULINE game with MANLY characters. The Space Marines are the embodiment of what it's like being masculine and stoic. Toss aside what 40k's setting is for a bit and focus on what old school movies, TV shows, books, and games were about with male characters, the idea of the heroic man. Protecting your fellow citizens from an evil force that seeks to consume everything in it's path. We, as men, are called upon to defend those around us and we do it with the intent of eradicating this threat. When we see the Space Marines in action, we're in awe of what they do and what they're taking on. The Imperial citizens look at them as saviors, and with good reason. Over 8 feet tall, muscle bound, highly trained, heroic, and determined. That's what makes Space Marines so damn cool, and, although I have yet to play the game, it is good to see that we are going back to a time where not only games were fun and entertaining while not worrying about who they offend (ie triggering the political left), but also giving us characters that can inspire us to be strong and stoic. I can't wait to get my hands on this game, I loved the 1st game, and Titus is an awesome character. So I want to get my hands on this soon. FOR THE EMPEROR!!!

I'm getting it just to support the devs. I too ONLY play solo campaigns (I used to be addicted to WoW, so that had to change) now. If a game doesn't have ABSOLUTE #1 Solo Campaign, I will NOT be able to enjoy it. Elden Ring and Hogwarts Legacy and Doom Eternal and Alien Isolation are the last 10 years best games that I still play.

Get the game. You won’t regret it. If you want better products like this to be something that is normalized then supporting those products is a requirement at a minimum.

A short, great game is better than a bloated 100hr mess, that pads out it’s runtime with repetitive busy work. Get it!

I got the "ultra" edition because I'm a self-admitted Warhammer simp, I thoroughly enjoyed it, It is a lot of fun, definitely a Gears of war vibe to it. I will say though, the campaign is indeed quite short. There is the operations mode which is the PvE element, had fun with that as well, gives solid replay ability and can be done with bots (the bots are not the best though, not crap but not great either) if you're on the fence about it, probably just wait for a sale or something. I just want to support them because I feel they did well and deserve the praise!

Articles like that last one do nothing but underestimate the target audience. Of course players don't treat W40K as real life FFS. We realise what the story is about, but we just want a DECENT, ENTERTAINING game with minimal technical issues! Campaign is about 6-7h long..i think.. I finished it and now im playing co-op missions ..and im an old gamer who don't like multiplayer ..but co-op is really nice, chill and fun to do after work

I play single player and still have fun with it, don't let that put you off, £60 isn't cheap but it is one of the few games that I feel the fun was worth the cost

Seen a bunch of people go with the "the Imperium are bad guys so you can't like Space Marine 2!" which is a stupid talking point. The Imperium is heavily and severely flawed from top to bottom, but compared to Chaos or the Tyranids they're practically saints.

Even though the single player campaign is only 8 hrs you can easily sink 30-40 hours into PvE without getting bored. If pvp isn’t your thing

currently 6 hours into Space Marine 2, Now quickly, I'm 20, so the franchise is older than me, but I've been playing it since I was 6. I've played the first game over and over again, For the last decade I was addicted to thinking about what would happen to Titus because of his connection to the warp, and man, so far, this game is yet to disappoint. I am in love with Space Marine 2, it has been worth the wait, over a decade, since the last game, and man, I can't wait to continue. I strongly urge you to play the first one first before you play the second, or at least read up on the story so you're caught up on it.

Get it! As some one who only plays single player, it was worth every penny. I played on hard, and normal and it took me about 8 hours! But don't forget that operations can be played with A.I. as well. So there's this other perspective of the single player, played by other marines who had other diverse task within the same story, which adds another 5 or 6 hours. It is absolutely epic, the action, the set pieces, the narrative. GET IT

Warhammer 40k is not devoid of female representation, but obviously we have to cry because there are no women in the only factions where the male aspect is simply created in the laboratory and not to have to reproduce (the astartes can't even fuck, tell me what's the point of creating the classic slim female figure only to please a very narrow segment of the public)

One thing studios must wake up to is that the critics and media no longer represent the audience. For a while they somewhat did. The studios focused on what the critics and media said. Bonuses could be based on critic scores. They can no longer listen to them as the critics and media do not represent the audience and will mislead them to ruin, but studios are slow to catch on to this. Now, they must look to and answer directly to their audience. The ones who do will find great success while others like Ubisoft languish. The same applies to Hollywood. The media and critics are increasingly irrelevant to the success of projects, and often detrimental.

I mean even if the campaign was the only part of the game whats £60 these days for the amount of enjoyment we can get as a consumer? Can easily spend more at a restaurant and you'll poop that out the next day 😅

Regarding the short campaign, I believe it’s meant to played through multiple times, given there’s like 5 different classes. Also you can play the co-op campaign with bots.

IF you only want the game for the campaign, I would wait for a sale. I am personally getting plenty of mileage out of the PVP and operations so I'm personally very happy with my purchase. And I'm overjoyed that there's no woke wankery in the game and it's just good old fashioned gaming fun with no strings attached.

I agree about the short campaign, I am currently playing through it. I don't play multiplayer, I enjoy playing for the story. What I have played so far has been excellent, I hope Henry Cavil can do the franchise justice if the live action film / series goes ahead.

Warhammer was satire from 1987 to 1993. It ended in 1993. It stopped being satire, as the editor Andy Chambers wanted a more serious cosmic horror dystopian setting. Warhammer ceased to be satire 31 years ago.

I’m also so done who prefers to play solo with bots, but for this it’s so fun to play with a squad. The PVE operation mode is a combination of Gears of War, Destiny, Left 4 Dead, World War Z. It’s amazing

I never really got into Warhammer and even I know it's not about good guys vs bad guys. It's just faction against faction. You just know when they add "when I used to play" they truly never did 🙄

the game is worth that amount just with the campaign and that's without mentioning that there is great pvp and pve modes beyond the story mode, not only that "operations" is basically a secondary campaign that happens at the same time that the main story mode, game has amazing bosses, great dodge and parry mechanics and much more coming with the roadmap that the developers already showed, i think they even mentioned a possible expansion to the main story on the future, btw the story mode is 6 hours only if you play it on easy, there is no fking way that is 6 hours on normal or hard, i played it on hard and it definitely feels like you are barely surviving has a space marine in the 41st millennium is amazing, and the last chapter is so well done it legit made me feel like gaming was back at the xbox 360 days of halo and gears.

I hated it at first because it's not as good as the original but it gets better. Now my only complaints are the weak weapon sound FX and the FOV.

Something to keep in mind when deciding to buy SM2 is that the campaign is only the first chapter of a story that is supposed to be going forward for a couple of years.

The campaign is solid, on Veteran it took my friend and I about 9 hours to beat it in coop. We weren't rushing around, we would explore the maps and look for hidden stuff. It was a lot of fun, the operations mode is icing on the cake. I am pretty sure you can set yourself to offline/bots for operations and that will add a crap load of hours on top of the campaign. Each operation runs in tandem to the main story missions, so you get a different perspective on the storyline. I think its worth the asking price, honestly.
