High role play servers want you to act like it's real life. Which is why (in my opinion) there is very little fun acting like a game is your job when you can roleplay as a D&D party in lavaland, dice and all.

The way he was acting wasn't appropriate to the situation, so...I wouldn't call that 'trying'. Best I could tell, he was on a Torch map, and if that's a normal Torch map, it means he's working alongside military personnel, someone sensible enough to be hired by EXO or the like. Acting like a dipshit isn't exactly appropriate conduct for that.

@@sneed7555 It's great if you're just looking for the mechanical aspects of space station which is why I'm a main there. Roleplay usually doesn't work out because everyone already knows what kinda crap you're trying to pull when you talk to them (i.e. "Wanna have a talk in maintenance" or "Can you show me the backroom?" etc.)

with how most MRP servers are, they're just better off being a HRP server for what individual admins of certain servers are from personal experience of witnessing/reading the Swiss cheese of rules that are just in territory of an HRP but don't want to be called one or they'll loose a chunk of traffic from individual players who don't wish to be violently barked/breathed down upon for the slightest of slip ups or something of assuming the player has made an Ironic joke **even though i wasn't even making a ironic joke but the admin there cant take anything at all and also making jokes of TG grey tides doing crazy flips and tricks to do some effort posts of some kind** and mind you the folks there have very short tempers from that one station boat has been banned from for being a man who wanted to do something goofy on a server that says they're a MRP but are a HRP as they dont like anyone who tries to do something fun on a half empty station of over 8 floors of a space elevator that would totally not get ruined by a lone grey tider who could brick the server in one go with proxys and vpn.

@@arkan5000 I feel like the only time I'm ok with Valid Hunting, is when it's an extremely powerful vampire or a cult that's gone higher in the numbers because at that point, it's a fight for survival. Rewiring the oxygen delivery to pump out plasma is not "light antagging". If everyone was allowed to do that kind of shit that destroys the station I can assure you none of it would be interesting because when behavior like that is normalized the station just rapidly becomes unsalvageable and not worth saving and the shuttle gets called less than 30 minutes in before anything develops out of it

Engineers didn't report someone mucking about with oxygen supply? Well, I guess they should be actually in Engineering instead of at the bar drinking, 'eh? Or, maybe it was the engineers doing it and someone should've reported them to Sec? If that behavior is normalized... guess what? People actually roleplay their jobs and actually do their jobs on shift! They don't wander around looking for fun things to do! They'll actually report suspicious behavior to Sec, which gives Sec something to do other than harass everyone or provide guns to antags since Sec is never in Sec. If clever antag behavior is normalized outside of antag roles, then it means that players actually have to be active in their roles and doing their roles rather than finishing their jobs in 5 minutes and then wandering the halls or sitting at the bar or looking for job changes... Also, why should a round of SS13 last more than 30 minutes? Is it fun to do your job and then nothing afterwards while you wait for something interesting to happen? I've played more than my fair share of rounds and the roleplay is so light, even in RP heavy servers that 30 minutes is MORE THAN ENOUGH time for a session to actually become interesting. Most sessions don't even become interesting in 30 minutes, either. Not unless you're playing on some of the far more lenient servers where crazy stuff can happen incredibly frequently. If you need more than 30 minutes of roleplay, just get into a chatroom. SS13 is a game that should be fun. It shouldn't be the next version of "interactive chatroom". If all you want is "interactive chatroom", then you shouldn't be in SS13 anyway.

Welp, you should try Beestation on MRP, it's tg code anyway and you can do fun shit, the motto is "everyone should have fun". There is no light antag as civilian and it's good to let do your own thingy. If you ever tried, don't listen to the memes
