I'm looking forward to many more mini European vacations from you in 2017. It looked like they were getting ready to resurface the highway at the beginning of the video. They had all the signs out, but no hint of any road works done, unless the pavement was grooved and we couldn't see it.
Makes sense - I was wondering why they had 80 km/h signs, that seemed really low. I'd say 100 km/h is still reasonable there (similar Interstates are usually posted at 65 mph even in mountainous areas).
Those signs warning about bad pavement have been there for at least 5 years (including the big hump towards the end of the video) and they haven't done anything to fix it. Otherwise this is a very nice drive, with great views (especially in the climb towards the pass) on the surrounding valleys. Only the 100/120 signs look a bit random but this is not the only case in Spain. Cheers and happy new year 2017 Chris :)
Thanks! The pavement has deformed around the bridges, the autovía has subsided a bit around bridges, giving a hump at bridges. This seems to be an A-92 thing.
A-92 was labeled the road to death few years ago because of its dangerous stretches poorly constructed. There was a lot of political corruption in the construction of the motorway.
