Day 02 of Paul and Karen's epic Grand Tour of Portugal (and a little bit of Spain) 2022: -
We both had the French full English before heading off the ferry (it's neither a Yondermann or a Flash build your own, but it's enough). Karen's disabled badge enabled us to both get a prime location for get out of the bowels of the ferry ahead of the rest of the bikes stuck down there, which was a big bonus. Anyway, off the ferry boat behind time due to some car driver being still pissed and asleep in his cabin, and we headed to our first hotel for the night in the sleepy town of Benavente. With getting off the ferry late it was a bit of a long slog of 200 miles to the hotel, but still taking in some of the C182, the C281 and the C627, if you’re looking for smooth tarmac with nice predictable bends, then these aren’t the roads for you, twisty, bumpy and uneven, with the occasional rockfall thrown in to keep you on your toes, proper adventure biking roads.
