Even in terms of weapons we are at par with the Chinese when it comes to the army. Air force and navy they don't have a technological advantage but have a much bigger air force and navy
@@chaitanyakandwal7827 not sure about tech advantage but indian air force and navy is not bigger in number than China..but in mountain warfare we don't need that and blocking Malacca strait with our navy is sufficient no need to attack their navy...

Seems like China India Foreign Minister talks too have failed. Biggest surprise and concern for me was kind of language used in Joint Statement. Dr Jaishankar is a seasoned Diplomat and why this happened is beyond understanding or else Indian side is under too much pressure * Selection and Use of words bear a huge significance in diplomacy. In joint statement there is Not a single use of word "LAC" instead use of "Border Areas" is a big cause of concern. Why we have accepted to refer LAC as "border areas". * There has been no commitment whatsoever by Chinese side to return to status quo. Means they will sit where they are. We have a very narrow window open before winter sets in. *Whatever strategic gains Indian Army had got by occupying strategic points at pangong tso seems washed away by this Joint Statement released by Foreign ministers of both countries. * Press note released by China is in contradiction with Joint Statement. Why is Indian side still silent and not objecting to contradictory seperate press note by Chinese Foreign ministry.
Kudos to the Indian army!!! Feeling extremely proud of these developments. I am also anxious about Indian soldier lives. But also glad that we have started answering the bullies in the only language they understand!
Wait is over...THANKS SG for coming out with this CTC finally :). This is what WE admire for you and this how reporting should be. You are the pillar of TOP journalism.Keep doing good work and PLEASE PLEASE also take care of your health.
I think even India as a nation Don't recognise Taiwan as a separate country. So u need to form strong sentiments,, everyone who differs from you isn't getting paid by someone. U people have zero respect for him .
@Vintage One Really? Nothing happens without them? Then all the disasters like demonetization, ill planned GST, rock bottom unemployment, disastrous economy, unplanned lockdown, sky rocketing corona cases, etc are all the handiwork of the government. Isn't it? I wonder who is a dimwit here.
Besides, you might also agree that the army caught napping when the Chinese occupied territory was a direct consequence of political failure of the Central Government.
Appreciate the depth thePrint (its staff and op-ed writers) go into when doing journalism. No other media house/outlet would go to this much trouble to explain the intricacies of the dispute at the border. Special thanks to Gen. Panag. Also I notice how thePrint has been adding more and more features to its videos. Before explaining a picture, there was no animation and everything was by vocal explanation. Using more visual animations/effects in the explanations will bring in more viewers.
@truth seeker You obviously have not heard Mitra's Analysis. With all due respect to the General the familiar contempt for Modi also overlaps his judgement.

One of the best among many cut the clutter episodes. army strategies explained clearly. The last two minute advice was the most relevant for all Indians during this time.
"Its over china, I have the high ground." "you under estimate my power" "dont try it" *china jumps over and gets its limbs cut off those who get it, are legends
"You were my brother China, I loved you. It was said that you would bring balance to the world, not destroy it!" The next lines are even more applicable in the hindi chini bhai bhai context lol
Exactly, China is clearly acting as Anakin, way too egomaniac, and gives open threats to other countries, like Communist bandit clown Wang Yi, threatening sovereign countries like Czech Republic and Germany, while getting his own ass burnt..
3 years since, its still a surprise that India came down from these heights knowing how strategic these are and from where they were actually threatening Chinese assets. Buffer zones have been achieved, propaganda from Chinese have come down on border issues to economic and foreign relations of India now. India meanwhile have prioritised economy and manufacturing. The fight is still on and India knows its not a fight for the army alone, it needs much more strength in other sectors too.
Mr Gupta, have you considered this possibility? China’s objective in my assessment is to control Ladakh, and thereby secure alternative path to Gwadar for their BRI. This would definitely make it a strategic move. The timing is because they assess India is weak now because of Covid, and India’s allies are also weakened and would have no appetite to support India materially. All the best and supporting you from here in the USA
Your last sentence is so wise. At this juncture, doesn't matter whether or not Chinese crossed LAC. It is important how we are strategically placed in larger scheme of things. Hope India is strategizing with vision and not reaction.
Very disappointed. Sg, you prove that you are from the same lot. There is no left and right just a bunch of goons on both sides who have no interest in taking the country forward. Shiv Sena gets offended by PoK tag to Mumbai but the fact that the city hosts Asia’s largest slum offends nobody. No haste in testing or nor any ambulances arrive on time but BMC has a lot of spare time for JCBs. Next time when Left shouts fascism, the Right will cite Kangna. Seriously the house demolition was as cringeworthy as the hounding of Rhea (Irrespective of whether someone is guilty or not). Congratulations, LEFT and RIGHT you’ve achieved a rare consensus - Both of you are equally useless and do not want development. Regimes will change but India won’t.
Very interesting analysis, will the Chinese counter measures be localised to the north and south banks of Pangong Tso or the possibility of an extended standoff in other fronts as well needs to be assessed. It would be valuable to receive your feedback.
The biggest change is change in mentality of political leadership. Rest all falls into place Remember that maunmohan Singh was willing to sacrifice the siachen heights. The army objected else that would have been another legacy of congress party govt for the next century. This shows that great things are possible when the focus of the ruling dispensation is not in looting and fingering kickbacks. Next agenda: put long range missiles and sukhoi in andamaan China wants to big down India in the mountains we need to heat up things for them in the waters That's the only way to bring them to heel
@Yugesh Patnaik Nuclear war is not possible. CCP is not stupid to use nuclear weapons because then everything they have built and all the progress they have made in the last 3-4 decades will be wiped off. They are not fools. Nuclear weapons in the hands of big countries is actually a deterrent to a full scale war. On the other hand nuclear weapons in the hands of rougue nations like Pak istan and Nor th Ko rea is dangerous because they have nothing to lose.
@Yugesh Patnaik congress ka baat kiya to bura laga? Tch tch. Shanti bhajan gao beta aur dekho if China listens to Rahul Gandhi.Dono candle leke border pe jao. Let men handle this please.kargil also had 2 nuclear powers?kuch hua?

aabhishek choubey It will, but we should first want to make it part of Bharat. Another option is an independent Tibet that is closely aligned with India.
aabhishek choubey It’s clear you do not understand the geography of Tibet. It allows only limited infrastructure and operations . Most mobilized divisions can’t operate there and the few that can are a small factor in the balance. The major factors are Infantry and AirPower and currently India has the upper hand in both. It’s not a matter of matching numbers on paper but an interaction of units that operate in the environment.

I must appreciate you and the print as a whole for maintaining the quality of the article without applying any ideological filter.
Shekhar Gupta ji , kindly clarify this news published in NDTV September 10, 2020 which contradict your claim here - "Government sources have explained that China does hold a few heights near the southern banks of the Pangong lake and that the Indian army does not dominate either Black Top or Helmet -- two features which are the Chinese side of the LAC. China is believed to have installed a camera atop Black Top to monitor nearby areas. After the Chinese move in South Pangong was detected by Indian observation, there was ''a race for heights". Who is correct here ? Kindly cut the clutter.

Very informative for a lay man like me. I was often confused at the multi coloured lines drawn in the map, whenever i see it in the media. I feel confident and at the same time proud about our army for occupying strategic heights.Ofcourse the chinese will try their best to change the status quo. We the common people should stand united behind our services and give them the required support. Jai hind !.
China has never been hesitant in talking about kashmir and openly supporting Pak. India should also start calling it India-Tibbetan border in all international communication. We should also talk about Tibbet's struggle pain and freedom openly. We need to give China a glimpse of consequences it will have to face by aggressive posturing.
These tactical preemptive steps taken by the Indian Army have definitely turned the winds in our favour. The Chinese didn't anticipate these movements by our troops and the Indian Army seems to have been successful in replicating what the Chinese intended and failed to do in the Galwan.
