Disclaimer: I'm aware that everyone revises and works differently, so things that worked for me may or may not work for you - it really just depends on the individual :)
Also lmao idk why I feel the need to say this, but this video isn't sponsored by Quizlet, I just love it ahaha. Lowkey sounded like it was though sorry 😂
Hope you enjoy :)

I have just recently started my Spanish A-level and I am finding it incredibly difficult and such a huge step up from GCSE. I thought I would find it okay since I got an 8 in my GCSE, but it is so hard! edit -- thank you so much for the advice, I feel a lot more relaxed :)

Great advice, tysm, Immie. So true about the idioms, and phrases, and giving yourself time. You cannot cram Spanish - it won't work, and you cannot expect instant results. By the way, it may be a relief to many that AQA does not require quotes, and they warn against them being used randomly or in the wrong way.

It's a good and honest advice. Mind maps are such a great idea. It brings so many words, expressions, ideas, info , facts and figures to your head! I have a few videos where I give lots of info about different topics and they all starts with a mind map. Statistics aren't necessary but it's good if you use some. ¡Mucha suerte!

I grew up in Spain but never became fluent in Spanish, after moving back to England I forgot some of it. In year 8 my brain went blank in a test and they moved me to foundation. After doing foundation for 3 years I had to teach myself the higher stuff in 8 months. Now for A-level I'm failing, my teacher told me the other day I might have to drop it and take another subject. I'm failing at grammar (there's so much) and need to know more vocabulary

1) Give it Time 1:00 Don't drop the subject too soon, you'll eventually understand stuff after you get used to it. 2) Take advantage of Quizlet as much as you can 1:58 After you finish each topic, go through its Vocab List and make them all into Quizlet flashcards. 3) Make mind-maps for each subtopic 2:34 They'll be useful for future reference, provided you put effort into making them properly. Try using colour-coding for different parts of the mind-map. 4) Do extra practice on listening & speaking 4:11 Ask a friend to be your practice partner. 5) Use speaking prep bubbles 4:43 Number each bubble corresponding to the number of speaking questions you're given, then write sentence ideas in each of them in note form. 6) Make use of Grammar Workbooks 6:08 They're packed with exercises and practices to help understand the most fundamental part of speaking a language: grammar. 7) Learn Idioms & Phrases 6:48 Super useful for sounding local, fluent, and native. They help you stand out in your speaking sessions. Make Quizlet flashcards on them and learn them. 8) Re-read your chosen book & re-watch your chosen film 7:14 They'll help to remember where each quote was and the events of the story. 9) Don't try to learn too many quotes 8:05 Only learn however many you're certain you'll remember off the back of your hand. 10) Make mind-maps about characters & themes 9:01 Just like in GCSE English. Helps visualize which quotes/info are actually relevant and worth using in exams.
