I am from Singapore and when ever I go back home one of my favourites on my list Goring Pisang aaahhh that crispy fried batter on the banana....mmm memories
Fried banana is cooked all over the world (Asia, Latam, Canarias). In Spain Plátano de Canarias (similar to banana) is well appreciated in Spain and some regions eat a lot of bananas in different ways like with this recipe in Spain for example.
In Bengal, India we also have it fried bananas but we make it without egg. Only with a batter of flour and cornflour. We give sugar in the batter and cut bananas in small pieces. It's actually a rural dish of Bengal.
Wonderful! I was taught to fry my banana in butter, and then, the butter gets strained before it is blended with honey, which is poured over. A grating of nutmeg follows. Also, if the flour will cause issues, you can cook them open side down, and then take off the skin before turning, so they hold their shape. But I love how simple and easy this dessert is! Thank you!
I love that you include cups and ml or spoon measuring and oz etc for US and Europe measurement systems! A unique quality of your show! And of course the amazingly simple yet yummy recipes! Also, you have beautiful hands! You could also do hand modeling! 👐🏼😘
I have Puerto Rican family heritage, so I am used to eating foods with fried bananas or plantains in them: all of them delicious. This recipe looks like an interesting take.
Another great presentation. I’ve never seen nor thought of peeling a banana from the bottom. You’ve opened my eyes to new possibilities! 😀 Brazilians love fried bananas. They sauté them in butter and sugar. For me the heating process brings out the sweetness of the banana, which is enough sweetness.
@@diananuttman8291 just because animals do something doesn't mean it's the "right" way lmao...we have technology, animals don't...why? Because the human way of doing things is superior
I love me some fried bananas especially when they are crispy. The honey is o.k. but i like this with vanilla bean ice cream. big like 480 and full view brotha!
Had these in 1975 in Los Palmas. They were so good, but the bananas in the canaries are so delicious and different from the ones we have in North America. Went to a banana plantation and picked a bunch of bananas too. Loved it there.
Albert: So you even turn BANANAS into gold, huh? Delicious. I have all of these ingredients on hand. _WILL make, can't wait._ (Fan from San Francisco, California.) *!!~
Wow this brings back memories for me. My mom used to make this but a bit different. She made a batter with flour and water and would dip the banana then fry them. We would then lightly sprinkle with powdered sugar. Have to try it your way. TFS 👍
This looks delicious...I've recently found your channel and I am enjoying it very much! One question--why do you dip the bananas into the flour before the egg wash? I was always taught to dip in egg wash first. Is there a specific reason for this? Thank you.
@ meanderingmuse: I would only assume that it is to limit the amount of flour in the coating to get more banana flavor. But let's see what Albert has to say. Good question. 👍
The best part of this video is his voice - he should tell bedtime stories. Today I had the crazy idea to make a fried banana and this is the first google result so I followed it perfectly. Is this an acquired taste? Cuz I hated it. The texture of the warm banana was disgusting to me, as if a banana had gone long bad. I guess I prefer bananas cold and slightly green/tart, or the banana popsicles from my childhood (do they exist anymore?) . The other good thing about this video is that I learned what Fritos means and now I'm totally disappointed in the dude who invented them who named them "fried."
Can anyone suggest a gluten-free flour alternative for this recipe? Wondering if almond flour will work. Need an egg alternative as well, it's an allergy thing (can't do milk either, so I can't replace the egg with milk).
@@deninevh Thanks for the suggestions. I haven't tried Tiger nut flour yet, will check that out. Never heard of flax meal gel, must need to order than on line. Thanks again!
Fried bananas are all over the world, in Asia (India, Indonesia...) in Latam they do have this kind of dish too. In canarias is also typical to find dishes with plátano (spanish banana).
