They were two married couples, and the biggest hit worldwide ever.....and traveled the world on tours. Then both couples divorced.......they broke up. In recent years they are at least on speaking terms and have done a few things together such as a musical.....with actors playing them.

I love seeing kids like you watching for the first time groups I grew up on. Abba was massive in the 1970s and 1980s with hits like Mamma Mia for instance. Now sadly the group are pretty old and they don't perform but they were ahead of their time back then and each song is mesmerizing. They were from Sweden and English is not their main language, they just learn broken English to get by and learned the songs in English word perfect.

ABBA - Goat of pop! ❤A real wonderful rabbithole and they are really versitale, sang in five languages! A next stop - why not another huge hit from back then - Chiquitita? The Spanish version was number 1 in Mexico for 32 weeks! They were brilliant LIVE aswell, no autotune back then - best options from Wembley or Australia. Many of the other ones in studios are playbacks because the TV-productions wanted it to be so back then. Suggestion of a popsong - why not ”Gimme, Gimme, Gimme”?

ABBA's phenomenal success in 1979 in Latin America with the single 'Chiquitita" had made them record a whole album in Spanish titled 'GRACIAS POR LA MUSICA".My favest tracks from in there are 'AL ANDAR"/"!Dame!Dame!Dame" and 'Chiquitita".I'm surprised you weren't that familiar to 'The Winner takes it all" this is a Universal pop classic. Definitely recommending the Spanish version of their song Chiquitita, they gave all profits from the song to UNICEF and it has given them more than $5 million since 1979

There was a time when ABBA was so dominant in the music on the radio in Europe, that it wasn't cool any more to like them. 🙂Their music is still incredibly good, the compositions and especially the vocalists. Without any tricks like Melodyne (Autotune) they had perfect harmonies. Great singers.

They had 23+ worldhits and many more brilliant unique album tracks. The official video clip is much better in my opinion. They also do the background vocals themselves. (And producing) they are out of this world!!

This was a real thing, she was married to one of the band members (the one playing guitar in the video) and the song was written during their breakup. I don't think you understood anything from the song.

You can't go wrong with anything ABBA... at least 20 songs worth listening to. They just released 2 songs in the last year or two after a long hiatus... and they STILL sound amazing! The two songs you need to do now that your channel is growing: "We are the World" and The Bee Gee's Too Much Heaven... you'll be glad you did! Good luck!

This is the musical version of a divorce. This song describes it all. People think it's the band breaking up but it actually isn't. As the guitar player Björn explained it in an interview a few years ago when they made a comeback: "Contrary to popular belief, ABBA never actually never split up. The girls were exhausted and had hit a wall. They needed a break from touring, so we took a break. Artistry and song writing being in our blood, we started doing separate things and all of a sudden 40 years had gone by. But the four of us have always remained best friends and ABBA was just on a break."
