My last hike in Spain came in Villajoyosa. I did have further trips planned but I'm not ashamed to admit that I wanted to spend my last few days relaxing on the beach and soaking up that sun before a UK return.😁
Honestly, I'm glad Villajoyosa was my last stop in Spain as it was the perfect place to finish. I was also joined by a lovely friend I met while in Alicante. Being alone Walker it was a nice change for me and was a pleasure.😍
Villajoyosa is a wonderful tourist destination and is somewhat unknown to inbound holiday-makers. We had a great tip to come here from our airbnb host who has lived in the area of Alicante for many years and urged us to take a look as we wouldn't regret it.😅
And boy was she right!😍 This small town has something for everyone. From endless narrow side streets for the curious explorer like myself or simply to take in the peaceful tranquil atmosphere and spend the day sampling the local food as well as relax on its stunning beaches.🏖
Unfortunately, I was unable to visit the Chocolate Factory while I was there as it was closed but as far as I know it is worth a visit too. If you are ever in the Alicante area for a period of time, make the trip by train to Villajoyosa. As its name states, it really is a Joyful Town. The picturesque colourful houses and the overall atmosphere will make it a day to remember.😃
