I'm one of those annoying guiri foreigners who has lived in Spain for years and can still only speak a few words of Spanish (despite listening to countless Spanish language tapes and watching umpteen online courses). The reason I decided to watch your videos (and subscribe to your channel) was because in the first video of yours I watched, you said the magic words: "I'm not going to deal with grammar." I really think it was the preoccupation (of online language teachers) with grammar that PREVENTED me from learning Spanish. And so I have been watching your videos - one every day - for about three weeks now, and I've learned more Spanish in that time than I have in the more than ten years I've been living in Spain. So whatever it is you're doing, it works. I'm surprised to see that you only have 30k subscribers. I'm sure you're going to have 100k subs in no time. But where is your Patreon link? You should be getting properly remunerated for providing such excellent content (am I right, fellow subscribers?). All the best, and keep it up!

thank you so much!! I'm glad to hear that it helped (for real, it makes me super happy!) Grammar didn't work so well with me either, and when I discovered this method I knew I needed to share it! Hey, Laura, I wanted to thank you for taking the time to instruct us on RU-vid! Your teaching style is very helpful. Sometimes I’ll just play your videos and listen, and every now and then I’ll hear a word that I recognize, and eventually those words that are familiar actually become apart of my vocabulary. I live in Southern California where there are many Spanish speakers so this is very valuable to me out in the world. I really thought it was very important to tell you that I appreciate what you’re doing on RU-vid. Also, there is so much beauty in the Spanish culture. You are a marvelous teacher! I have been looking at RU-vid Spanish lessons for a long time. But you are actually teaching and especially added level where I should be you're the first one that I have found like this. Teaching me like I am in the first grade and that is what I need. Hello Laura, I enjoy your videos, especially those for beginners where you are describing things in a book. I started to learn Spanish last year mostly from youtube. I was pretty consistent for several months but than I had a 6 months break. Recently I recalled what fun it was learning Spanish and about a month ago I resumed and I've been pretty consistent since. Regarding this video 'La cocina' I have a question. You referred to the glass objects on the table once as 'cristal' and once as 'vidrio' . Are those words interchangeable in Spanish? My mother tongue is Polish. In Polish the word 'cristal' is reserved for 'cut glass' like artistically cut with intricate patterns. Usually it is thicker than for example wine glass. Thank you for making this videos for beginners. I feel like I am having a conversation with a real spanish person as opposed to some lectors on youtube that sound a bit artificial if you know what I mean.

Hi Laura. I just signed up subscribed to Spanish After Hours on Patreon. I'm really looking forward to Laura's Log! I really liked how you produced and edited these three super beginner videos. I'm looking at doing language input videos in my own language. Could you tell me how you did these videos in particular (i.e. are you using a tablet or a type of digital pen on your computer, and you have that kids book in digital format? What device/software are you using to merge the two screens together)? Does it take you a long time to edit this type of video?
