Lazy Day should go in the history books as one of the greatest feel good songs ever written I can’t listen to this song enough and I would of loved to dated Spanky when I was younger ha she’s so cute ;)
What a cryin shame the group lost Hale to a freak accident. They were phenomenal together. Such rich harmonies and they could all play. Still sound great almost 50 years later. Thanks.
@@jayanxiety Agreed Lazy Day, Windy, Sunday will never be the Same, 98.6, Up Up and Away, along with many others made 1967 a remarkable year in music!!!!!
@@scottmiller6495 People tend to overlook this type of music when looking back to 1967. Contemporary journalists often equate 67 with "The Summer of Love" , Anti-War songs and "Sgt Pepper" rather than the positive sounds of Sunshine Pop.
RIP, John and thank you for such a fantastic rendition of a great song made even better by your loving touch. It is so clear your love shown for these songs by Spanky and our Gang. I consider you an equal member of the group after what you have done to bring their performances to a younger audience. Thank you and rest easy in heaven.
I went to see them in 1984 at the Tropicana in Atlantic City for the Happy Together Tour 1984 and four groups performed there to a packed audience when she started singing Lazy Day everyone went crazy and when the performance was over and they were done their session i went up and hugged Elaine (Spanky) and said i loved her and she was delighted, I will never forget this for the rest of my life!!!!!
I wish I could have the opportunity to let her know how major she is to me, and how sad I am for the tragedies the group went through early on. Hopefully Elaine knows how important she is to people (and the rest of the band as well, Rest In Peace).
I really loved this song, this group and elaine mcfarland. Everytime i heard lazy day i went crazy it made you smile, feel good and wish you could walk through a park on a sunny day with an ice cream cone and a bunch of red balloons oh my God do we need music like this again in todays world. 1967 will never be seen again Never a great time gone by too soon. !!!!!!
You said it Scott. One of the best years of my life, it will never be again. And to think such beautiful music could be produced in the turbulent 1960"s!
I know, their three hits will live forever in the minds of intellegent people. Sunday Will Never Be The Same, Lazy Day, and I,d Like To Get To Know You.Because they only lasted a few years and had many people die in their group cut their fame short and that is still considered a horrible shame !!!!!
Wow this video just took my stress away! Nice to be able to take a break from all of the nasty news and events going on in North America right now. Makes me feel human again! Takes me back to my childhood, where I didn’t need to know or deal with all of the negative events going on at that time. Just a kid enjoying his life.
Great job mixing this amazing piece. The producers threw in every instrument they could including a harp. If you listen closely during the chorus, you can hear a flute in the left channel and a fife (higher pitch flute) in the right channel. Those great 60's lyrics. Songs these days don't tell the story like they did back then . . . Blue sky, sunshine What a day to take a walk in the park Ice cream, daydream Till the sky becomes a blanket of stars What a day for picking daisies And lots of red balloons And what a day for holdin' hands And bein' with you Thanks so much for sharing this classic song with the great Spanky Macfarlane on lead vocal. She sings like an angel. Steve, Salem, OR USA
Ohh, I just love this song! Just takes me to a nicer, happier place than what we have going on in this world now!! Its escapism!! Just for moment anyway! So beautiful! Wish I could of experienced the 60s!❤❤❤❤❤
Marvelous "remix." Keeps the integrity of the song completely. The antithesis of modern day remixes that are just drum machine enhancements without any thought to the song's original melodic or harmonic structure. Great job! More please.
outstanding job sound better than the regular version keep up the good work. love this toon . long live the 60's for ever. it's true people were always smiling in that time . just were did those times go ? and will those times ever come back. now that's happy days.
Well done -- bravo! One of my all-time favs, so I wasn't sure about an extended version... but this was excellent, and kept to the spirit of the original cut. Thanks for posting!!!
The original song(s) always made smile. These versions just make me jump for joy. I love hearing and appreciating the arrangement that were behind all these hits. I immerse myself in the music and without the vocals I can get lost in my memories. Thank you very much.
Same here, I was 10 Y.O. in 1967, the older cats in the neighborhood were of Draft age 🇺🇲🪂🪖 a few came back & the others 🤔 ?? WOW, the memories & the transistor radio 📻 was my friend Beautiful music 🎶 🎵 in the 60's Just saying 🫡
Sunshine rock is something we can surely use these days. First heard this at 10 years old and even at that young age I felt that this music defined positivity, love and just good feelings toward life. Glad I can still listen to it periodically and capture that same feeling. I know…but it’s true.
WOW!! Awesome version of a great pop hit!! Love it!! I just listened to it 6x back to back!! I hope Spanky & Our Gang got a chance to hear it too... Just wonderful work & many thanks for sharing your talent!!
I never forget that song lazy day is so beautiful when I was young I heard it from elementary school and I downloaded on my phone you also the best Spanky And Our Gang
I am blessed to have been able to live in an era where we were able to take those walks in the park and not get gunned down in a driveby or mugged. Maybe someday we will be given that chance to relive our past happiness in the form of our future shangrila.
Another beautiful treatment of a beautiful song from my (our) youth, and so well done. Most of the best videos like this get removed for some reason so I hope it will stay up for all to enjoy. So full of joy and love... it really is a treasure.
