In this video, I show you guys how I replaced the spark plugs and ignition coils on my 2010 Audi Q5 3.2L V6 Quattro! It is pretty simple and easy to do at home! This video could possibly be used as a GUIDE/DIY/HOW TO/TUTORIAL to help you replace the spark plugs and ignition coils on a 2009-2012 Audi Q5 or other Audi models with the 3.2 V6 engine.

Thanks for the video. I subscribed for the chance to be motivated, inspired and learn. - 2010 Audi Q5 3.2L V6 135K miles, purchased used in 2017 with 78K miles. - 2009 VW hatchback, manual 2.5 l/ 5-cylinder, original owner 108K miles. This is the problem child forcing me to become a DIY mechanic more than I desired in trying to pass MD emissions test. I just spent $500 at the dealer to be given a quote for $5,000 to fix a $3,000 car that is paid for and runs great.

Hi, thanks for this great DIY. I'm curious as to why you replaced the ignition coils with the spark plugs. Did you have any misfires? Is it recommended to always replace the coils and spark plugs?

You're welcome. I'm glad my videos could be of help to others out there. I did have misfires when accelerating harder. Additionally, the ignition coils have never been changed since this video and it made a huge difference in how the car runs. Spark plugs definitely have a service interval and ignition coils usually last longer and are usually replaced individually as they go bad. Lifespans of ignition coils can vary and are usually double to triple the lifespan of spark plugs. I personally like to do a full ignition coils replacement at least once during the length of my ownership of a car.

Whatd you use to clean up the area before doing the swap?

I just used a densed rag. All of the grime I had there was just moisturized dirt/dust and it came off fairly easy.

How long did the replacement take to complete? What was the final gap size?

I would say about 2 hours at most. When I checked the gap on all spark plugs, they were between 0.036 and 0.038 so I left them as is and installed them and the Q5 is still running great 👍

That red thing did you add it. Im trying to figure out my q5 but it's a 4banger. Need to change out the conector to the coil.

Hmmm are you referring to the red wiring harness cover? If so, those actually come stock
