When you have that much oil in the spark plug wells the problem is more often due to deterioration of the seal between the cam girdle and the cylinder head. Resealing it requires specialty tools and is a much more complex and invasive task than simply replacing the valve cover gasket. It is best left to an experienced professional to perform unless you are very familiar with this engine and confident in your mechanical skills.
You are right sir. That’s why all these Audis with 3.2L are so dirt cheap in the used markets. Basically, all A6 / A8 / Q5 / Q7 with the 3.2L have low resale value.
Can anyone tell me the cylinder locations? I have a misfire in cylinder 4. I just want to change that plug and coil. It's my beater car so doing the cheap way. Probably won't have it for more than another year.
I have a question shouldn't you first change the valve gasket and then the spark plugs and coils? I think I might have that problem. I'm just not 100 % sure because I think I put to much oil and it was all over the place. So I don't know if I really have a valve gasket leak.
I did the valve cover gasket after because the client asked me after. I was only able to aware him of the problem only after i was changing the spark plugs.
