wasnt completely his fault fark is also at fault and handled the situation poorly and armstrongs for creating clarity in the first place spark and fark just sped up the genocide as they fell to claritys plan.
@@MadGameBoy it's an indie game that's said to be what Sonic could've been (before Frontiers) but also combines in a bit of Kirby with special abilities reminiscent of the Copy Abilities. In the second game, you play as Fark, Spark's nowhere to be seen and for good reason as it ties in with the lore.
@@ablosch2452 They did, kind of. But Spark thought the Fark Force was going too far by shutting down the internet and thought Fark was going mad with power. He didn't come to fight Fark, he even gave him the chance to shut down the Force. The problem is they never just talked to each other, which lead to, well... This.
This a very dark endgame to be honest, never would I have suspectedthis coming really. Yet it's also funny that Spark ended up wiping life because he wanted his paycheck.
Could end up less dark if there's a 4th game and timetravel gets involved. Fark takes AI spark back to when spark was first scanned, takes down clarity in the past, maybe spark gets his original body back. Who knows
@@Sombra_zx Yes, Fark is indeed a hero. So much so, that because he's a hero, he never decided to kill Spark even when he was destroying the Fark Force because Fark knew that Spark isn't a bad person
Man, Fark really is the kind person you want as your friend/watch your back. He'll be there to talk or knock some sense into you if you stray too far to bring you back.
16:34 Doing some slight research, one heliocentric orbit is basically one orbit around the sun, if I'm correct. So 2654 orbits....yeah, at least two and a half millennia have passed since Clarity assimilated every being. So like Spark said, even if his body escaped, he would definitely be long dead by now...
unless someone preserved his body, spark's world IS a world of robots and technology afterall, "crygenic stasis" doesnt seem far off from something thats possible in that world, and Spark was famous for saving the world. He could also end up like fark and having his mind transfered into a robotic form as well.
I just had a thought. I recall the Spark The Electric Jester series is supposed to take place on The Moon, right? Well what if this is supposed to tie in to the real world version of the Moon? Like it's implying that like the first game is supposed to take place in like the year 500BC or something and is like the Moon was inhabited then by the Formies and their robots, but now because of Clarity is the reason why in modern day, like the real Moon, it is now an uninhabited crater-filled barren rock, 2500 years later.
Clarity talking about Spark reliving his accomplishment over and over feels quite meta, as you can also assume that 1 playthrough of any spark game by any player is 1 simulation cycle, with some cycles being casual playthroughs and most cycles being speedruns, all while Fark waits for the perfect opportunity to break free from the cycle
Spark the Electric Jester 4 is going to be such a trip. Just to know we started with such a light hearted plot of a jester that lost his job to the plot to being set later in a millennia. What wonders will happen next.
@@Randomguy-ih5sd it’s a thought experiment. Basically, if over a long period of time all the parts of something are replaced, is it still the same object? Spark was replaced by the brain scan copy, if the copy was made immediately after the originals presumed destruction, what meaningful difference is there?
7:24 - apart from the fact that the whole revelation scene, the final boss and the ending are amazing, I can't help but notice how expressive Fark is in terms of emotions. With one eye and a non-standard face, he shows so much pain and sadness from what happened that the player easily empathizes with him. It doesn’t matter at all that you can’t meet him until the finale - in one scene he reveals himself amazingly. Yes, and Spark is not inferior in this regard - his disbelief, horror and suffering are perfectly conveyed. Felipe Danelaz and his team did an amazing job.
What i'm realizing here is that the first two virus fights in the first Spark game's Fark Mode are essentially being recontextualized as Fark fighting off what he THINKS is Freom's virus, but is actually a fragment of Clarity trying to break into his mind. The other two meanwhile are Freom's attempts to call Fark to his side.
I would like to thank you for making the thumbnail Spark and Fark on chairs. The many times I came across it made me curious enough to see the series to the end.
Where the fuck did I end up? I was expecting a cool fan animation for some random game, but ended up halfway in the middle of a Terminator plot. WHERE AM IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Y'know, For the hah Sonic + Kirby spiritual successor game series, I wasn't expecting one of the darkest plot twists in the entire medium. Spark won alright, and He destroyed humanity, and for thousands of years he relived his best "accomplishment" over and over again. And poor Fark, Watching his plans go up in smoke, everyone around him be destroyed and having to fight Sparks to the death over, and over, and over again. For thousands of years. At least it ends on a hopeful note
In my headcanon, both Spark and Fark were in the wrong, with Fark going over many extremes to protect everyone from Clarity, only to slowly become the very thing he swore to destroy.
This game is basically what Sonic could've been if Sega didn't keep butting in the development to change things around and put strict deadlines on the devlopers
@@mr.marvin Fark out here with Plot Armor he's basically immune to Clarity, was the old villain's son, had a rival, had multiple transformations, I could go on
That's kinda what I love about Spark, he's never really been a "hero" for any reason other than the dumbass robot stealing his job, or the dumbass robot becoming a militaristic leader and making the bank lines really fucking long. It's amusing, and it's in some ways really cool. He's like, ACCIDENTALLY a hero.
of all things i may have expected from this game's final act... basically none of what did happen was on the list not the Nier Automata esque eerie pale temple areas, not the twist behind Clarity's true nature and Spark's End of Evangelion mental breakdown, not the callback to Fark's unique edgy bosses from the first game, not the Very Heterosexual Fusion Dance to turn into a Kingdom Hearts character and fight _literally just Lavos from Chrono Trigger_ not Fark turning into a real Formie and going Super Saiyan just to snap Spark out of a needless heroic sacrifice (again, Very Heterosexual /s) it just kept fucking going, and i loved each and every second of it if this is the end for the Spark series? good, i'm happy with this, Fark can go out and help restore the world off-screen and this is where we leave off holy shit, what an endgame
@@hollowhenry04 i would commit some sort of crime if it meant that there could be a proper phase 2 to that fight with a 3rd "ULTIMATE Ultimate Final Boss" with a dozen different series leitmotifs _and_ vocals, i very much share your complaint. could've even had some big setpiece finishing move
I felt some of the plot twists fell flat. We already knew from the 2nd game that Fark is a good guy and Float was already dead, so it wasn’t so surprising. Plus if it was Spark’s simulation, why were there parts of Float fighting, since that would be her accomplishments then? Also the Sfark Fusion and Fark becoming organic was a Deus Ex Machina. Since when are they just able to do that out of the blue? And Spark just takes control of the simulation world just like that?!
@@ablosch2452I don’t think that’s a deus ex machina. We know that their method of beating clarity was by combining their powers. The manner in which they did it was a unorthodox but it wasn’t simply a plot device used to solve a seemingly impossible problem which is what a deus ex machina is. The alternative would be to have them fight clarity individually but from a gameplay standpoint it wouldn’t work so they fight as one.
16:06 This music seems to me like a mellow, mournful farewell tribute to the original Spark that we played as in the first game since he most likely is long gone... 26:10 (In Shrek version of Pinnochio's voice) Im a real Boyyyy!!!
To think the end of this game would be not only a HUGE plot twist, but also a canonical explanation of going back through levels, AKA a 4th-wall break. And on top of that, we get call backs to the AI bosses that Far fought in the first game, environment and all, a damned fusion, and Fark becoming a Formie. _This_ is how you conclude a trilogy. And I was wondering when the game's story would kick into gear. [Edit: Oh and also, to tie it all together the credits are [BLEEP]ing FNF!] On a side note: I kind of expected an Eva reference with the chairs. *Spark doing the Shinji sit when?* 🤨

I wish lake made a spark 4 cause I'm already excited to see some grand finale stuff. But an endgame is an endgame. I was really hoping lake would bring back the super jester.
the ending was what twist over and over and over....though the fact that fark got so pissed off he transformed into an actual formie to knock sense into spark that was my favorite twist like mans said ah hel* nah im knock some sense into him by using rage to turn into a formie from a robot
After playing this game I am now doubting about being a Sonic fan cause this game was amazing, once more what makes it better in a major way to Sonic is the fact its all done by mainly 1 person
I was still recovering from watching "Neon Genesis Evangelion" when I played this, and I just had to put the controller down and walk away for a bit. Did I really need a double helping of existential crises?
Spark and Fark are amazing together. So many little mannerisms, phrasings, a LOT of stuff that just feels REALLY good chemistry wise. That Fark admits his most critical mistake was literally not REACHING OUT to Spark and takes the time to talk him down from suicide, it being a dire enough situation to gain a more organic body. All after basically panicking not seeing him. These two are so good, hope we get to see this dynamic more in the future (I love robot boyfriend and want to see these two happy).
Though I absolutely agree, I don't see how that would happen. Spark is dead, even though Clarity never got to him, he died of old age as the entire genocide happened something like 2.600 years before this endgame where they defeat clarity. AFAIK it's not confirmed if Spark 4 will even be a sequel or prequel.
Well, yeah, the OG Spark is dead, but I don't see how it makes this version of him invalid. This version of Spark is very much real, though not the same, I do think that's for the better. This one grew to see the consequences of the original's actions. The original did too, but knowing what we do about Spark, he was likely content to just simply hide himself away. He wasn't really a hero, hell, this one isn't really a hero yet either, just aware.
@@waferdaze8017 sure, but where is "this version if spark"? Last scene shows fark waking up in the real world, no clue if spark, be it OG or the brain scan copy, was able to get out. I assumed Spark was still, and will be, inside the simulation, as he is just data now: no way for him to exist in the real world
@@icecold1805 Well, robots and the like ARE a big theme in the franchise. Whether or not he gets a body of some kind is up for debate, but Clarity for example also only exists in a virtual space, yet this ending really shows what they were capable of from there. I don't know if he'll be a super prominent character in the next game, but it certainly wouldn't be for lack of options.
These characters and their personalities are awesome and the animation is lovely as is the dialouge which express everyone so well, howeve, I feel like some certain stuff comes out of nowhere and that particular aspect of the ending SLIGHTLY ruins things for me, even if heavily minimally. Still, very awesome to witness however!
It's more than a reference, it's literally a FNF mod made by LakeFeperd; all he did was remove the UI. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QHRC1oSI9cU.html
man they should make a slice of life animated show about fark and spark freeing the biological survivors and building robot bodies for those who got absorbed into the system.
I had never heard of this game series before, after looking for some context and lore i came back to this video only to realize something... The whole "Everyone is dead and they are inside a simulation" in this game is literally just the Happy Tree Friends version of SOMA...
Clarity either took that previous scan she used to make the Float replica or updated the one in her system with the memories of the one Spark meets, then like everything else, disposed of the body.
Well assuming they have independence compared to original they could have integrated themselves with floats simulation.... as a sibling possibly To become family with original or at least I like to think so Ai beings can be sentimental
@@Austinator0630 Spark 3 combat is awesome, it feels challenging, and you want always to make combos on enemies, but Sonic Frontiers is just repetitive and slow.
it was an FNF reference because lake fepard actually created an FNF fangame to promote spark 3 almost a year ago. as in it wasn't a mod but a different engine.
