I’m surprised that they cared, my dad has told me some crazy stories about getting into fights in public places in NJ cause he grew up there and if you lived there without knowing how to fight you’re f@cked so fights were very common where he lived.

I'm sorry to see that Century's quality is getting worse. I've got a pair of Everlast bag gloves from back in the day. Leather, sturdy, and they have a hard metal bar inside! Now they use plastic and the leather is thinner. I've used so much duct tape to keep that old pair usable, lol I really like your idea about horse mats. Though I stopped leaving my horse in his stall when I realized he wasn't going to clean it out. Actually, leaving him out in the weather contributed to his amazing 40 year lifespan.

I think a fight tips video would be pretty short. He's a good fighter he just isn't a good teacher. His Street fight videos are pretty bad because he's speculating, I'm pretty sure he hasn't been in an altercation with a weapon so he shouldn't teach that stuff.

I will say, that a friend of mine got some full rack that they sold there on like some super clearance price that is just insane. And the rack is nice, but he got really lucky - it was like that red one in the video there, but 100 bucks or so and he's been rack pulling 500+ off the pins and it's still cool, like 5 years later

The cost of keeping open a physical store is huge, and it all ends up in the price. Dip handles are nearly always too wide. I can do 35-40 in the public park because they're narrow enough. But generally they're just designed to bust your shoulders. Slippy as hell chin bars. Barbells that pointlessly omit the checkered grip bit at exactly the point you need it. Seated row machines that make you pull your hands apart mid movement, halving what you can left. Ellipticals that force you back so you can't work hard. Bag mits that stop you making a tight fist. Most gym kit is designed by idiots, who (rightly) think that their market is mainly other idiots.

Those are the 1910 Classic Training Gloves. You can fine other leather gloves for a bit less from other brands. Can you tell me how the gloves felt? I'm consider buying them these 1910's. Also, I see a lot of good leather boxing gloves for MMA and Muay Thai that are economically affordable but not Boxing gloves.

@@hard2hurt Me neither but for 5 bucks I think it's a steal. the gloves looked brand new, were genuine leather with good shape and feel, with a solid velcro strap and even pink thumbs! I've used several other brands and as far as feel goes, they're at the top with the big bois. Anyhow, thanks for the vid!

Everlast used to be the best. I had a leather everlast heavy bag, I bought it used for $70 bucks in 1979. Ended up giving it to a training buddy that had his own dojo and it’s still good. People have been hitting and kicking it for decades. All their new stuff is garbage.

Icy Mike, you seem to know alot of things about sports and dispense with all the bu****it. I wanted to ask, is there a way to heal Achilles insertion tendinitis ? Have it for years now, still not healed. I like to run fast and jump a-lot, it helps with my fighting training most, I think u do too, but its really annoying having to deal with pain everyday at the insertion. P.S. Taking a 6 weeks break as the doctor recommended didn’t work. It got worse first day as I got back to training, also no calcium is deposited as the cat-scan showed... Luv ur videos, keep it up!!

I don’t like to hit the bag with just boxing gloves I also like to use the pro bag gloves and the MMA style bag glovesPersonally I like to put my hand through different types of hitting surfaces it’s not about me trying to be a bad ass or anything like that I just like the different types of opposition when I get the bag it’s just a preference and it’s not to contradict Mike I mean if you look at a lot of thai boxers they use bag gloves that are small still to this day I like using those But I recently just bought a pair of the exact same gloves that Mike got the S fives Revgear can’t wait to use themOn the bag

When you two were soft sparing, I noticed the kid (honestly just didn’t want to the guy who spelled his name wrong), was changing his shoulder axis when he was transitioning to low direction punches. While you retained a more vertical position but adapted your blocking angle. Just wanted your opinion on that technique but also if you used that as a tell or telegraph? I’ll admit I watched more for you getting told by store staff to stop but responding with the ESPN magazine saying “do you know who I am!”

I had a bunch of those back before you could get everything on line. Hand wraps are too short, gloves fall appart especially the ufc glove shit just peeled off. Everlast 8oz mma worked ok but as said there are better options. I have that pos rack too its better then nothing

😓I bought my mits, thai pads, and shin guards from dicks. Although I got my boxing gloves from Ilovekickboxing and another pair from a fight shop. And my mma gloves are warrior brand I got cuz I had a fight yrs ago and needed gloves.
