I think stuff like melee and combat dodging is still script based. I remember when modding Halo 2 I'd randomly trigger some of the AI behaviors like dodging when I switched to controlling enemy units, but it only happens when you get near a master chief model. It's completely scripted and you need a way to add button binds for those actions. Likewise with AI controlled spartans they need to have a script for melee attacking Banished units without a controller command
@@poly_g6068 AI enemies use different melee from how the player does it. The most notable difference is that AI Melee animations are slower and telegraphed so the player can react, while player melee is fast and lunges to the target.
Hopefully in DLC we can get some different terrain. I’d love to see a desert/snow environment be implemented. It would also be awesome if they managed to add in some dynamic weather.
It is good to remember that halo rings are massive and we have currently only seen a small part of it, I fully expect we will encounter more UNSC and banished, as well as weather and environments on different parts of the ring
Is it just me,or do the Marines have very weird engagement styles? Like the shotgun ones seem to take shots from longer ranges than they should, and snipers and rocket launchers seem to want to get in extremely close?
Well the forerunner shotgun has two firing modes and the vertical fire is useful in combat and realistically they should want to use it for and range combat while trying to slowly defeat 117 not charge at him like a dipshit with a shotgun like some brutes
Would be reallyyyyy cool if you made the spartan model look like the deceased ones you find in the campaign and re-enact/recreate firefights from the spartan audio logs about those spartans
I gotta say, that was a good weapon choice for the Spartan NPC. It's extremely difficult for it to miss, and has good range and DPS, and works even better the closer the enemy is.
this was great, if you wanna turn the tables have the elite ultra lead an attack on the first UNSC fob, the big base near the wrecked frigate that you start at.
I only hope in the next dlc we actually get not just the arbiter but also different biomes like deserts, swamps and snowy tundras, weathers especially for base campaign, more diverse wildlife and lastly shipmaster Rtas needs to return to flex on brute ships that outnumber him. Let’s also not forget that they better add in forge mode with really big maps like in the days of Reach but with more options
I mean, as much as I love the open ended aspect of things and having a lot of the things done by you, the Chief, some 'scripted' sequences where these things happen would be great to see, but then again that might not make sense since the story would shift from what it is now to something leaning more on a group effort since why wouldn't you be discussing things with a higher than normal ranked person such as a Spartan?... Still, the video with the attack on the FOBs should've been a thing though... That one kind of makes sense. You cannot 'rebuild the UNSC, one by one' on the ring without having personnel in 'em. I mean, the Banished have HVTs as well, the UNSC could have important people be like the representative or the sentry of a FOB... I hope they add back the cinematic battles in beautiful set pieces again next time, especially with UNSC/Friendlies being able to drive on their own and not always following you..
I hope we get some more AI spartan friends later on in the campaign, not so much constant squadmates like in reach or 5 but more like the AI spartans in halo 4 & spartan ops
Never really thought about it this way... but imagine how scary a spartan would be to go up against, a highly trained killing machine. No wonder the banished and covenant can't shut up about them.
I remember I assaulted one of the bigger banished bases and I brought a full razorback of marines with me and low and behold there were a bunch of captured marines in the base and so I was leading like a massive force to capture the base. granted they all got more or less decimated but it was epic while it lasted.
I am just floored by how much better Marine AI is in Infinite compared to any of the other Halo games. Anyone else get flashbacks to the monkey with guns that were the marines from the old days?
The ultra cloaking then dispatching a whole squad of marines, and the Spartan powering through the entire Covvie line are the most lore-accurate parts imo :)
I thought 343 had spartan AI already defined for MP? I guess it cant be used here without heavy modding, would be useful to get the adaptive reactive parts (melee and general combat performance) and meld it with the campaign pathfinding.
A squad of 3 or 4 Spartans doing work and moving thru to an objective while wrecking shop along the way needs to happen!! Can we get the boys to drive a Razorback? Each Spartan could use a different Forerunner weapon.
This just more and more makes me wish we had a firefight mode with Marine AI backing ups up. like either assaulting a base or defending one. I think that would be dope as hell. especially with friends
This is what we should have seen in-game. This and more ODSTs and Spartans too. Imagine getting a drop pod scene from the Infinity before the ring teleported
Am eager to see another Spartan video vs Banished... What about the Spartans during the battle of Zeta Halo? (Griffin, Bonita Stone, Theodore Sorel, Makovich, Vettel, Horvath, etc) what an awesome video, hoping 343 can adapt Spartan Multiplayer or so to the campaign
I mean, i use 5 marines with sniper rifles, we stay away and take down hole compounds, sometimes one have a RL o something. See marines with sniper rifle doing cqb is a little... haha you know.
