As a drummer many years ago and following many college bands through the years, NSU has to be one of the greatest if not the greatest drum/percussion section of any that I have ever seen. That includes SU, FAMU, TSU, GSU, MB, NCA&T, OSU, LSU, HU, etc..... This is pure energy, choreography, and great music without instruments (horns, woodwinds, etc...). Each year, I am impressed with the talent this school continues to put out there for us to enjoy. Each performance, I look for mistakes and they are few and far between. Great job!!!
MD Thursday is usually held in the band room on the kampus of Norfolk State University's performing arts center. It takes place on the Thursday night of NSU's homecoming weekend.
I love the last bit of the cadence which sets the drum majors going. Then the breakdown by steps to a casual stroll. Historic. And the nasty whitbois, one on the quints, and one on the snare. The standard is high, especially the cymbals, and snares.
@@jacobtheninja12 Somehow my post should have been on another clip about the going home tunnel. None of the brass were playing. I can't find it even as I think it was filmed by some one's folks. Sorry bout that.
Dennis Johnson At homecoming the current line entertains the past graduates by running through a lot of old material and tolerates their diminished skills. LOL!
The white durms is the older equipment and the black and gold is their newer equipment. They always keep the old drums for nights like this or as back ups if necessary.
This has to be the most ridiculous thing I've ever read. Watch yourself before you reply, I'm real old school MDFS. I've seen VA State for a LONG time and there isnt one thing on this video that ever belonged to them
I've noticed your statement to be false and it's actually the opposite. Every time MD got new equipment/ drums, the following season or two, V State had the same exact brand of equipment.
@@rljproductionsinc284 No problem... I'm a past Legion member and my friends and I have always noticed that. They do their instruments the same way. You notice they have the ombre drums now?
