My third time participating in a Spartan Race - this time was the BEAST which was 21+km and had 31 obstacles! The race was on the 3rd November 2018 and located in Hua Hin, Thailand.
I was in the middle of dieting when I took part in this race, and because of that, I (rather stupidly) didn't carb-load prior to the race. Because of that and probably some other variables, I experienced the most painful, agonising cramps of my life after around 8km of the race and they only got worse as the race went on! I tried my best to complete the race, and I did (it took me 6 hours and 2 minutes!) although I wasn't able to complete all of the obstacles :(
I ran with my wife, Lotta, and our friend, Nikki, who kept pushing me on and we had a great time and an amazing experience being able to do something like this. I couldn't have finished without them!
Congratulations to everyone who took part in both the BEAST and SPRINT races. It's definitely an accomplishment to complete these races, and the beast was just BRUTAL!
