Is gold flammable? A flammable material is anything that ignites when exposed to a naked flame or a spark without needing prior heating. Pure gold will melt but not burn when placed at the right desirable temperature of heat. However, impure gold such as pyrite, fool’s gold, and steel alloys can burst into flames based on the level of heat. We might as well now put our spiritual jackets on henceforth!
