CNN’s Anderson Cooper and his panel of political experts and analysts discuss Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA)’s attempt to walk back comments he made at an event where he said “no Obamacare” in response to an attendee’s comment. #CNN #News
I'm on the ACA, pay $50 per month for a good plan. I have to go to a teaching hospital, but if I end up in an accident or with cancer I won't go bankrupt. It would be a crime to strip that from me because Trump has a grudge to settle with Obama.
@@OP-yl2hmcredit where credit is due. Trump has already made claims that he has saved,or done something that the world knows wasn't him. Obama was thinking of the people. Trump and the MAGAGA are not!
Speaker Mike needs to walk all the way back home and get out of politics. People are sick of that man. He’s just a mouthpiece for anybody else except the truth. What a weasel.
McConnell was right. Once the ACA because a part of American's lives, the government would be hard pressed to ever get rid of it. Just like Social Security, people count on ACA. And thank god we have it.
Yeah, America has finally caught up with other advanced (and even some undeveloped) nations that provide medical insurance for most.....it's a basic need that the GOP has fought against for decades.
@@jlvandat69 Closed the gap a bit, yes. Caught up? No. Not even close. Most countries have universal healthcare; single-payer systems wherein the patient doesn't have to pay anything at point of service. No worrying about whether they are covered, or copays.
To Hell with Johnson. "Obamacare" is the only healthcare I have the ability to possess currently. $600/mo. paid for, free, by Obama. I ain't complaining.
He said no more Obamah care. If he didnt want to terminate it, he would have said so. Being a Republican and getting your info from a fellow republican is like saying my cel mate knows a guy on block D says. Cmon man

They are willing to take away vital healthcare support for millions just to spite their Democratic colleagues. Does that make any sense to anyone?!!! Several hundred thousand Americans are still alive today only be the grace of the Affordable Care Act, and that is no exaggeration.
It's not solely to spite their democratic colleagues but it's part of it. Health insurance companies would LOVE to go back to denying coverage for people with pre-existing conditions, and not cover preventative care among others things. The Rethuglicans have already butchered ACA to the point it's barely affordable for middle class working people by taking away the mandate.
Before the people answer I know that the red tie guy will support mike and trump , why the hell you have that person on ???? Cooper just shut that red tie guy down
"What he meant was".... Mike Johnson is a grown ass man, he damn well said what he said in private and got himself caught on camera saying it. I can hear quite well and I don't need or want someone telling me that I don't know what the hell Mike Johnson got caught saying. Grow a pair and man up

He been rich all his life, what he knows of depend month after month of welfare and Social Security because can get out of the hole where many had fallen because etc etc.😮
They're going to vote for Donald Trump because he'll protect the cat and dog from imaginary harm. He's also going end taxed tips, but still keep the minimum wage lower than any other industrialized nation. 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
Medicare is engrained, but they have plans to repeal it. Social Security is engrained, but they have a 2025 plan repeal or strip it. The Bill of Rights and the Constitution is engrained, but Donald Trump has a plan to remove it " Any Questions "
IF he wins his district which is garrymandered deep red, he will still be in the House. but WE will have the majority so he will no longer be speaker!!!
@@RStark-ek7mhAmerica has the most expensive healthcare in the industrial world with some of the worst outcomes because of the controls given to the private companies

He always has a smug, shit eating grin look on his face at all times. Scott Jennings is just as bad though and I don't even know why he's on the show since he always acts the same and says the same apologetic sanewashing nonsense every time too.
Boehner once said that in his 25 years in congress republicans never introduced a single bill on health care. The only thing I’ve seen them do is tried to repeal any health care bills. Scott Jennings is an ass.
@nico8587d this list can be super long... So I will just go with, holding everyone responsible in the UN that has taken my tax and military. While cheating us for their free healthcare (taxed)
A friend of mine sells health insurance, he's been doing for over 30 years. He says that two of the reasons why healthcare premiums are going up is because of for-profit health insurance companies that want to make more $ for their investors and medications prices are way to high for the exact same reason. The same prescription medications cost a fraction in Europe and they are made by the same companies. In my opinion is just plain old greed, avarice. Healthcare should not be a for-profit business, because the goal of those companies is to make money not caring for the sick.
We would've had a public option if were not for republicans refusing to sign the Affordable Care Act if the public option was present. A public option would've given us universal health care while continuing to allow private health insurance to be available for those would prefer and could afford it. The health insurance couldn't have that - so they paid our republican representatives to veto that idea. Then the republicans went for the mandate which took the Affordable out of the Affordable Care Act.
Pretty rich coming from a guy who knows nothing about government health coverage. Yet not only does he claim to know, he knows what Johnson and Trump think.

*82* American Nobel Prize winners in physics, chemistry, medicine, and economics have signed an open letter where they are endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for president. ° You can google The New York Times to read the letter . ° See below for a few more details . (I had to part up the comment in order for youtube to render the info visible🙄😤.. )
' The letter, in which they commend Harris for recognizing that “the enormous increases in living standards and life expectancies over the past two centuries are largely the result of advances in science and technology”, calls Trump a potential threat to progress who could “jeopardize any advancements in our standards of living and impede our responses to climate change”.' ' The letter compares the two presidential candidates’ views on science and its importance for government policy. It states that Harris “recognizes and understands that maintaining America’s leadership” in the fields of science and technology requires financial support from the federal government, universities, and international partnerships. “Harris also recognizes the key role that immigrants have always played in the advancement of science,” the signees ad. The letter warns that electing Trump would be detrimental for science . “He would undermine future US leadership on these and other fronts ." '
Also: ' In a separate letter obtained by CNN, *23* US recipients of the Nobel prize in economics express their endorsement of Harris’s economic agenda, deeming it “vastly superior” to the economic strategies proposed by Trump.' ' “Among the most important determinants of economic success are the rule of law and economic and political certainty, and Trump threatens all of these,” the economists write.' ' “Simply put, Harris’s policies will result in a stronger economic performance, with economic growth that is more robust, more sustainable, and more equitable,” the economists state.' ' The signatories say they support Harris’s candidacy because she “would be a far better steward of our economy than Donald Trump.” '

I don’t believe anything out of any Republican’s mouth. If they openly state they’re going to do something, you can lay odds that they will not do it or vice versa. Get all of these Trump minions out of office. Vote blue straight ticket 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

Democrats need to stop condemning the President. It's common sense what he meant. He was defending Puerto Rico, then he said Trump's supporters, it's obvious he meant those who want to divide us
The mandate is what made the affordable care act affordable. It was NOT a good thing that the mandate was removed, so now everyone is paying more for their health insurance. The republicans refused a public option which would've been funded out of the taxes we are already paying. Then they removed the mandate so those of us who make just above the limit to qualify for medicaid, get raked over the coals.
Just because you vote Republican, it doesn't mean you don't want a good healthcare package. Any healthcare package will not be cheap. There is simply way too many interested parties involved, and everyone needs to get paid. All parties should work together to make Obamacare better (it's good but can use some improvement like most everything) instead of fighting it.

Why do these politic pundits always have to interpret what a politician actually says out of their mouth…they meant what they said unless they double back and clarify what they misspoken on period.
this is what it is all about. there are a bunch of people , who will vote for trump , who depend on ACA who havent got a clue about what is going to happen to it when Trump gets elected.
"Ingrained in our system" is *precisely* what each Trump Supreme Court pick said about Roe v Wade. Remind me why I should trust a single word from a MAGA source.
“The inflation crisis” bro inflation is at 2.2% today. Dude the Venezuelan migrants who have come to seek asylum left a country with 130,060% inflation. That’s an inflation crisis.

Jennings is full of baloney. In Maryland, the health exchanges offer very affordable care Also, Republicans have been fiighting full funding of the ACA for years.
Trump promised multiple times, something better than Obamacare for 4 years and there wasn't ever a Republican bill. In the last 4 years not one Republican bill to improve healthcare. Stop the BS.
Republican Governor DeSantis has never helped Floridians with the rising costs of home insurance therefore I would never expect Trump and Republicans to lower any costs. Now I do expect Madam President Harris will work on reducing costs.
Their incredibly bold, in the worst possible ways, but the general electorate is dumb and misinformed in the scariest possible ways. Ordinary people, even poor people, voting in politicians that support cutting spending on the middle class and working class to offset bigger tax cuts for the rich and corporations... is crazy.
