I am a disabled guy I was born with spina bifida, meaning that I just , can't walk so I use a wheelchair , I can and do push myself everywhere!!! You inspire me girl. I grew up with a medical condition quite different. I had seizures and a brain tumor until I was 20yr. Had 2 brain surgeries to remove the tumor. I stuggle sometimes with anxiety and depression over small things that trigger me like feeling rejected often growing up. I have so much to be thankful for, yet I find myself trapped in a emotional roller coaster feeling sad, anxious and dispair over my mom and sister ignoring me now for 5 months, and getting stuck feeling attached to someone shortly after that, whom I have no business feeling attached to... In short, I look at your sweet smile and bubbly personality and It encourages me to move forward and seek Jesus with all I can.

I have a friend who was born arthritic, she just got her 1st wheelchair & bragged she made it 120m frontwards. Her friend is a quadriplegic said she wheels herself 7km a day. I told them if I had to wheel myself 7km there better be a peanutbutter pie at the end & I'm going to bed after.

Have you seen the latest on spinal implants? I read a article of a paralyzed man who received a current spinal implant recently. He was able to walk almost immediately. The implantt transfered the message to the brain, that (I think, I'm not good at medical terminology) use to be done by the muscles in the legs. It told this man's legs to move/walk and He did. Veryvery slowly at first, but he got to the point he walked totally alone. This operation happened very recently.

Makayla, there is a woman named Joni Eareckson Tada, as a teenager she dove into a shallow part of a lake and was paralyzed. She is a christian and has a youtube channel under her name. She is married, and with her husband they raise money for people in other countries as well as here get wheelchairs who otherwise would not have the means to buy them. It's inspiring and she is a strong woman of faith and there is even a movie on youtube about her story and she stars in it. Thought you may want to check it out. She is very inspiring and she loves the Lord. I bet she would love to hear from you and may even need you as they have a camp for kids who meet who are disabled and need mentors I'm sure. Wow! Good for you for not being ashamed to talk about Jesus and your faith. I'm almost 15 years older than you and its STILL pretty hard for me to talk about Jesus with a secular audience. I do have a question...is it hard for you to be around the cheer world now because you cannot compete? And have you had any cheer moms or younger girls talk to you about their fears of a similar injury? You have a bright future ahead of you and continue to lean on Jesus when your days are tough (and when they are good :)
