This week, Bishop Rodgers teaches from Romans 12:6, on the topic "Speaking God". The basis of this message is the gift of prophecy. Every believer has gifts, but we mustn't confuse the gift with the office.
When we look at prophesying, it is simply " the communication of God's message to strengthen, encourage and comfort". The prophet explains the Word of God: the living Word and the written Word. The prophet is not always predicting the future, but often effectively communicating God's message. They are the "declarer of God's will and purpose". The prophet must believe what they are saying and must believe in the One who sent them.
If you speak what you don't believe, it is lying. The Word of God should bring freedom, not bondage. We pray as you listen to this powerful message, you will gain a deeper understanding on the grace gifts and how you can properly utilize the gift of prophecy.
