Love your lifestyle. I had a homestead up until last year when I became too old and sick too look after it anymore. I have to live close to a hospital now days but I miss the country life. I still have solar power though because here in Australia we have so much sun it’s crazy not to use it. I also have a rainwater tank.
Watching your video just like flashback to my childhood ... it's wonderful to remember ... I grew up in countryside ... unfortunately activities like your kids.. today is very rarely... Now, kids more preoccupied with their online games or gadgets..

Wow, the eldest is starting to look increasingly marriageable, but that sucker was an unlucky suitor - she did not care for his lips at all & that was the end of him! Ah well, there are other fish in the sea. Here's hoping that some day the grandchildren will start appearing thick & fast! ;)

Here in Malaysia, we spearfish at night. Yes we also do it in rivers. Why at night? Coz the fish in Malaysia are more active during the day. It's more difficult to spear them.

Just stumbled on to you folks this evening, I think I have watched at least 12 of your video's already. Ingrid and I raised a large family of 4 boys and 4 girls, and lived off grid a few times, the last time was at our Ranch in Toms Lake east of Dawson Creek. We learned to use our resources wisely, including our Game, which was plentiful. Also Homeschooled for the better part of 31 years, with absolutely No regrets! Look like you have some very Resourceful beautiful and intelligent Children, Got there Looks from their Mother. Ha Ha. Seriously though, I love what you folks are doing, and find the commentary Hilarious! Cheers to You and your family and all the best. Ps.
