At least the man in the gray suit isn't there to tax your fish. Looks like a fun change up from saltwater .

Absolutely. That combined with very short boat rides and not having to worry about waves/ storms as much makes it very relaxing.

I love the freshwater! Come up to Oklahoma and you can get catfish and white bass. Arkansas really rocks though. Some lakes you can get striper, wallleye , and even largemouth.

Not yet! I have a buddy that used to go spear tilapia a lot in the winter but still need to give it a go.

Heck yeah man! Welcome to my element 🤙 you don’t see a lot of freshwater stuff in Texas, very cool. HMU if you’re ever in Utah and want to hunt some gamefish

I used to go out once a week and shoot one or two freshwater drum in Lake Travis and cook them right on the shore with a little wood fired grill. Very tasty, but I found the smaller shinier ones to eat a lot better than the larger darker ones. There are a lot of really cool freshwater dive areas if you like underwater cliffs, caves, and spooky underwater forests, but knowing when and where you can get good visibility is tough and of course youre limited on what you can shoot. Ive seen 100+ feet of visibility around 60ft+ deep in Canyon Lake in spring time before with huge schools of striper coming up to check you out. I think we should be able to shoot at least one of them if we're willing to dive in the water to find them. I dont know, doesnt seem fair to me. I could still spend all day underwater just swimming with fish though, its so much fun.

That’s awesome. Yeah that’s what I’m interested in doing, the deep cliffs and caves.. just gotta get out and explore more spots and hit them at the right times for sure. 60 feet of vis in a lake here is wild. Sounds like a blast. Yup I’d love to go hunt them!

Awsome video Braden.these drums looks exactly the same as the Brown meagre we have in the Mediterranean, is this lake has a bit of salt in the water? I know that the Brown meagre can live in estuaries, but fresh water? interesting!

Nice! I learned how to spearfish in Siberia, actually, in freshwater. Mostly perch and pike, it's a lot of fun! Did you eat the buffalo? I never shot carp because someone told me the meat was terrible, but it looks like a good time.

Mike took them on this go around but the next trip we go on we cook and eat them. Meat quality is good the downside is the bones. Very cool about diving in Siberia!

I don't want to steal spot or anything, but which lake is this? I am in North Texas and am wanting to get into spearing/diving and don't really know of any lakes around that would work to try. Thanks!

Why would you kill a Buffalo? They are right behind Sturgeon in obtaining being the longest living freshwater fish is North America. That fish could have been older than you.
