In this video I go spearfishing in Hawaii in the extremely hard to access Valley of the Kings. Justin Lee and I hunt everything from wahoo, uku, goatfish, papio, giant trevally, kole, kona crabs, and nabetas. By far one of the most action packed days I've ever had on the water and a day I will never forget.

Mahalo for the awesome dive video bring back good memories . Its nice to see those old dive grounds i once dived 30 yrs ago. Still get fish but use to have much much more kumu years ago. :( oh those pinnacles use to have trippy looking fish. Nenui with parrot like beaks and other strange looking fish. Always be safe take only what you need. Aloha keakua.

Sea of Cortez is supposed to be epic! Been down to la Paz but that’s it for that far south. Everywhere is amazing sometimes just gotta catch it at the right time.

Ryan Myers I would believe it, it looks great. I think balance in everything is good, but unfortunately the world is either left or right. I just hope that with all the potential angst between the US and China that places like Hawaii don’t get stepped on. Anyway, I just want to go there to spear in warmer waters. The ocean is only 400m from my house, but the water is 10c. (50f) and my wetsuit is not warm enough...good enough excuse.

I used to spearfish knife jaws all the time in Japan. It was my wife's favorite fish for sashimi. Firmer texture, but when you cook it, the flavor goes away. Try it sometime.

Great vid👍 couple questions - how do you train to hold your breath so long? When do you know to surface without risk of blacking out? Aren’t you concerned that having the bleeding fish tethered close by will attract tiger sharks? Thanks

Thanks man lots of practice is key I dive 4-5 days a week for many years. Ya I am sometimes concerned about sharks but if you want fish you have to go into their ocean.
