I drank 2/3 cups of spearmint tea for 2 weeks straight, before my summer trip, and i saw significant decease of acne. ( I make it 2 spoons of the tea, when u put boiled water wait for 10 min and then start drinking) :)

This means SO much to me! There is so much misinformation about skincare and derm out there so I try really hard to make everything evidence based. Thank you so much for your support!
unfortunately i can’t treat my pcos acne with medication because of a genetic trombophilia mutation i also got diagnosed with :(( will be trying this tea! hoping with time i’ll see some results
I drink this tea daily now for the past week .. now I DavidsTea press cup (thrift) .. and the cup is great for a quick tea on the go but by all means use something cheaper .. anyhow .. I drink this daily about twice a day 1 tablespoon of spearmint tea in a 16 oz cup I believe.. I spin the herb in the water for about 2 mins and press down .. I drink it warm only .. and after I drink it I pour the wet leaves on a folded paper towel and rub the tea on my face (less mess this way) .. 2 days ago after threading my face acne tried to form and about a2 hrs after noticing I drank the tea and rubbed my face and went to sleep and it was gone (again only 2 hrs after noticing it I attacked the acne .. didn’t want to wait) Also eating well counts .. the tea can’t work harder than any bad foods or drinks you also ingest.. aka Whole Foods and meats of little to no processing.. I’d say this is key before you start the tea
Will this affect men regarding their/my testosterone levels?? Or does it mainly inhibit the cause of acne by drinking spearmint tea? Im mainly using it for acne and for sleep quality. Im also bodybuilding/weight lifting at the gym as well so will drinking Twinnings chamomile and spearmint tea daily 2x a day for a course of a month or more cause negative side effects? Would i get less horny (my gf will be mad and sad about that) or does it focus on a certain part of my testosterone that relates to acne only and not sexually? Thanks Dr. 😊
This is my experience with spearmint tea: -When I started breaking out again I went to a dermatologist who told me what facial washes to use and prescribed me with tretinoin -It didn't clear my acne. I was new to the new skincare regimen so it's possible that I may not have washed my face correctly, and I was spot treating with tret rather than putting it all over my face which I realized I wasn't supposed to do after going to my dermatologist a second time for a follow up. -So I started putting tret on my full face. I used my CeraVe Benzoyl peroxide acne wash in the morning with moisturizer and then the regular CeraVe gentle wash at night with tret. still acne was not going away. This was after about a half a year of my new skincare routine. -Then I read online about spearmint tea and I started to think my acne might be hormonal. I started drinking the tea twice a day every day. -Acne reduced significantly and I wasn't getting new papules like I usually did. I can confidently say with my personal experiences, I think that the combined skincare routine and tea has helped. -On top of that I avoid refined carbs and processed foods. Also on the pill again which I think has helped as well. I hope this was informative! I believe spearmint tea alone may help to a certain degree, although combined with a good diet and skincare routine I think is what matters! I hope to help other girls who are struggling with the same thing. Having acne is horrible. On that note, if any girls are looking for good quality makeup that won't make them breakout, definitely try Clinique. I have Clinique concealer, foundation, and primer and none of it has caused my skin to break out. I usually get it at the makeup counter at Boscov's. It's a bit pricy but I think the quality is worth it!
Hi! My local Walmart only carries either blended black and spearmint or peppermint and spearmint tea bags. Do you think either of those would still be as potent versus drinking straight spearmint tea? Thanks!
I was on spironolactone for my hormonal acne and it worked beautifully, better than anything else I've ever tried, however I had horrendous side effects. The worst was severe brain fog; I was basically a zombie for the entire 5 months I took it. I medically cannot take birth control with oestrogen in it, and winlevi is not available in my country. So yeah, all the other options are ruled out :( I started drinking spearmint tea a couple of weeks ago. I'm really hoping it works. No side effects so far!
@@lhoyn it's only been 3 weeks of consistently drinking 2 cups a day, so it's hard to tell at this stage, but I'm going to keep at it and see what happens
It's been one month of drinking spearmint tea. My skin is a lot more hydrated and I have a lot less acne! I've found I have to drink it in the evening because it makes me sleepy, but it does also help me relax which is awesome
Hello Doc!😊 Please help me, i am about to start accutane, and i live in a place where salmon, avocados or any fish in general is not available for the general public. What can i eat with accutane to help with absorption ( something thats widely available and not expensive )
Can hormonal acne happen on cheeks. Before periods or sometimes before ovulation I get big pimple on cheeks. Can someone tell what kind of acne is that?😊
Of coarse, do you expect to brush your teeth once and have them clean for the rest of our life? Same is here) If your system could work without, for instance, spearmint support it would be a healthy one.
I have Severe hormonal acne on my forehead and chin. Also I am daignosed with PCOS. Before I was on birth control pills helped me to have clear skin. Since I am planning for kids now cnt take pills so after stopping the pills acne devleoped badly. I am on PCOS treatment now so can I try this tea for my acne? Please do reply
Thanks for this video. Would you recommend spearmint tea for men who want to have children. I wouldn’t want to lower my androgen level to the point that I have a difficult time reproducing
You can drink the tea but there might be a chance that your acne is not hormonal. Instead maybe buy a benzoylperoxide 5% gel and then use that every night for 8 weeks. Benzoylperoxide is an antibiotic that treats the bacteria. Just watch out that you test the cream on your arm first a day before you use it on your face (to see if you're allergic to the cream). Also keep in mind that the cream can stain your bed sheets and always use moisturizer after. And always always use sunscreen in the morning.
@@sabinasheikh6911men can drink it. You should google more. Hormones/testosterone isn't just 1 bit there's many types in the body. I.e hormones that inhibit acne etc.. and hormones for growth and hormones for acne and etc etc..
Hello! I cover this in my video in depth but basically there is not data testing spearmint tea and acne directly...but I go over all the data that shows spearmint tea might help with other conditions of high male hormones like hair growth and PCOS.
