Absolutely brilliant new video Joe! I love the new intro and I really enjoyed the longer format too. I'm so happy that you uploaded again. I check your channel most mornings just to make sure that I don't miss any. Thank you for making your videos. You are making lockdown so much better.
Spectacular video, thank you. I grew up on N Cornish coast fishing and generally larking around and seeing the coastline and coastal waters was a great way to start a Monday morning.
Great video as always nice to see you back in the kingdom of Cornwall. Only down side was the ghost pots and road cone. Glad you had a great time and some nice 🐟🐟 looking forward to the next adventure and thanks for the mention Joe.👍👍
What a great day and captured perfectly, loved the colours and for me,hitching up the boat with a beautiful sunset, knackered ,cold, but a head full of memories.
Nice work on the video mate, well done. Seals working an area, I'm always worried about the GWS working an area LMAO! Cheers for sharing the video! Dive safe!
Great video. Amazing to see the large group of Spider Crabs still hanging around, a shame about the ghost pots though! North Corwall is a great place to dive - you really did it justice! Thank you!
Wonderful and love all the prep etc, living 150 miles from my boat each trip takes planning so great to see the boat launch, the reason you went where you did. My season ends next week as its time to pick the boat up and head back to the midlands for winter storage. Keep the videos coming I already can't wait until next season. This years boating was rather short as the coved situation meant we could not get the boat down to the club until July so feel cheated, not anyone's fault just annoying
Another great video Joe with some fantastic underwater footage as usual! I did think, when you said near the start that you were checking the boat was secure before getting on the motorway, your geography must be a little haywire for a route from home to Padstow!! You must have passed within a mile of me enroute! Footage of the Dolphins was great too, and as you mentioned in the video, take just what you need. Conservation at its best! Thanks, and regards - stay safe & well. 👍👍
That's a valid point that your other subscriber made. Its one of the reasons I've stopped using instagram to research my sailing and spearfishing trips. The "kill photos" with piles of fish always made me feel slightly uneasy despite being into the same hobby. I've been on a rant for years that a spearo's wetsuit is a uniform, and that all of us are being judged by the conduct of each other. As I head someone say recently "limit your kill, don't kill your limit" Anyway, a great video as ever Mr PK.
Another outstanding video pike... those 20minutes flew by with the smooth editing, story and narrations. Really made me miss diving with you in the wild coastlines of Devon and Cornwall. I'll be back for Christmas and we will get out on a mission my old ansome janner
Well done. Both Daniel and you show us the best of the UK in what has been difficult times. Would love to get over there, see my heritage and go for a dive. Cheers from Victoria Australia.
Fish and chips!..... C'mon we all want it... We're all jealous..... Show the fish'n'chips.... 😀 All the best from North Nottinghamshire Take care Simon
As always Joe, amazing content and editing. Watching this on my commute into central London and your vid is stocking me to get into my kit and get out some more :D thank you for the kick
Amazing video Joe!! Theres a couple of groups in Cornwall, fathoms free and ghost fishing, that go diving for ghost gear. If you send them that first mark they might go and clean it up.
Just found your channel and loved the latest episode; now I've got to play catch up and watch all the old ones.. Oh well the painting will just have to wait. You're in my neck of the woods, having grown up in Kernow, but spent the last 20yrs in Africa. Your vids are making me homesick. Thanks for your efforts.
Greetings from Cyprus Joe! Your channel is trully amazing, its very nice you have this respect for wildlife and that you just gather what you need sustainably without getting greedy. I hope one day I also manage to dive in th UK as it seems beautiful!
Beautifull mate.. i never seen so many h.macrell 😀 i usually would see clouds of sardines or sandeels and always something big around like bass or mullet.. not sure why but many times it was a mullet 4-5 around 3-5lb each.. always missing them 🤔 and the watter like in fishtank clear i only seen this kind of watter in the other side of Ireland atlantic side.. 10-14m you can see the bottom .. anyway keep them vids coming mate i hope i can do a dive or 2 this year
new subscriber here! So glad I found your channel, the content you put out is of a very high quality. I think this has been my favourite video yet. Look forward to seeing more.
Great Vid, followed your stuff for a while and im a big fan. Enjoyed the reality of this vid, gives a notice spear fisher like myself a bit more confidence. Cheers again
Thanks for the questions. There's lots of things that can increase your chances of finding stuff. The main thing is a warm suit and perseverance. Something I'll be doing on these episodes very soon!
@@JoePkSpearfishing I thought the same. Although I realise it would take a bit of extra time, a voiceover of the dive to let us know what you were seeing would have been great!
Haha, the old ones fell to pieces. The land rover spent 15 years rusting in a barn. When my Dad's series 3 had to get scrapped when the chassis fell to bits I stole the doors!
precioso banco de lubinas disfrutado y pescado con calma "me gusta" a que temperatura está el agua en verano? beautiful school of seabass enjoyed and fish calmly "I like" how hot is the water in summer?
Thanks! The fish were indeed very calm this day because of the calm water. The water was 16C. ¡Gracias! Los peces estaban realmente muy tranquilos este día debido a la calma del agua. El agua estaba a 16ºC.
If people discard crab/lobster pots is it legal to take them and recycle/re use than after a period of time instead of leaving them In? I guess that would depend on the city/country laws.
I don't think the best habitat 😬 One had a big rotting wrasse inside. Maybe once they are mostly buried they form a place the creatures can get in and out of?
@@JoePkSpearfishing I used to work 300 pots with a small boat and if you were in for bad weather for a number of days or lost gear for weeks you would never catch much at all.
@@JoePkSpearfishing plenty crawfish and lobsters out there in the 80s the crawfish are making a comeback now, my own gear was out in Lyme bay and some around the coast
This was probably just nerves, the fish was more than likely dead. In fact, I have taken the head off' flounder and plaice in the past, only to find them still kicking. The same thing happens with Bass, Pollock and mullet. After putting a knife through their head, their mouths can still sometimes twitch.
@@derekcheunglew I do understand the good practice but this one does not look like anything happened to it except the spear hole. Please do not assume, just look at the facts.
The reflex action you see occurring because some nervous impulses continue firing after the fish has been killed, especially those which short circuit the brain. I kill all my fish with a knife up through the brain and spinal cord, but often a degree of movement after this occurs for a few minutes.
@@JoePkSpearfishing Very true. I know of someone who took a dead Dogfish home, put it in the fridge, and 3 hours later, it twitched & jumped off the shelf. True story.
@@JoePkSpearfishing i have no idea how it works, obviously one or two throughout 20 min is kinda expected but it was difficult to watch, it took away from the content. Keep the vids coming though. 👍
