After a mechanical issue occured on the cooldown lap of HFGT qualifying, I spent a lot of time chasing down the issue and eventually dropping the transmission to find that 5 out of 6 clutch pressure plates became loose and were backing out. The car was fixed by the end of the day on Saturday, missing a day and a half of practice, qualifying and racing sessions.
The car was ready for battle on Sunday and would have a lot of work to do, as I would be starting in last of the ST4 group. There were four of us racing and I made quick work of the challenge, getting up to first place before the long yellow flag, then holding onto the lead on the one lap shootout in the end. I also set a new race lap record for Spec E9x, a 2:11.457 (a 1.2sec improvement over my time in March)!
