I don't know why there are so many "like" on the main message. The difference is that the known "drift" section is not a drift part. On the opposite, the "track" part IS made as a track with security features regulations. If you don't know, multiple layout of rectangular straws bales against each other are very efficient to stop a car without causing too much damage to the driver while being not too expensive.

This event is not all about this tiny section of "drift". It's very reducing for this big event. For most of those, it's not drift but "power slide". Right drifting technique used here is done by drift cars. Personnaly, I don't think it's a big problem. Just by fact, some drivers here can't really can do power slide in control fully. And that, that can be the problem and make the difference.

@@joem2841 Maybe because multiples factors like a prototype that should avoid any damage, but because it's a special event, the driver is allowed to try. A car (F1) that is not designed for this purpose > clutch do not like it but can be made at the end of a race by example. Cold tires especially on supercars affect how will react the car. Supercars got tires temps features because it can avoid crashing the car after a cold start. Some drivers send too much power making a very short u-turn instead of a regular slidding. It's not always because of the driver, it can be the weather, if you drive on a sand/oiled surface, many factors.

People are there for the cars anyway, no cars = no event. They shouldn't be trying to talk down to people who actually turned up with cars.

The bird would have flown and a proper fuck off would have been said. Followed by another burnout and a discussion with my other friends about reducing sponsorship funding for the following year. The marshals are there for basic safety but when you want to police one group vs another nope you can fuck right off with that shit!

@@N4CR It's a hill climb. Point being though. Most are professional drivers and or test drivers for the manufacture. The ones who get invited to test drive the cars at Goodwood generally drive the hill in a decent manor and don't drift around the the top and bottom.

Isn't this after the hillclimb? This is where they turn round to head back down which they do at a slow cruise.

This is the bottom of the hill, before the run. There's a tyre warming area just before the start line, but to be honest a lot of hillclimbs (i.e. ones which are actually competitive) have no tyre warming areas.
