theres a retaining clip on the outer edge of each headlight thats suppose to hold the corners in. On the spec d the clip that the plastic ball snaps into is the incorrect size and doesnt hold the edges of the lights in giving you that huge gap. The headlights arent made correctly.

for everyone that is complaining about the gap on the side. There is a a ball and socket type of mount in the upper outer edge that you need to hit the headlight to get to attach and that should close that gap.

Holy hell that is a huge gap between the fender and the light. It's not even curved right... How can you sell these and get away with it?

RE: Spec-D Headlights on my 2002 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab They look and operate great !. 1. There is a gap surrounding the headlight body. I will get some auto weather stripping to close this gap as water will surely find its way into the 3/8”-1/2” crevice which is where the connections are located. 2. Since the side lights are not functional on the Spec-D's and they are replaced with a reflector, I used this lead to wire the halo/LED lights. 3. Caution: when inserting the plugs into the light sockets. Be sure to match up positive and ground sides of the plugs. 4. Also, when installing the body of the light, pop in the top post with the round end FIRST, (called a "mounting pin" in previous posts), then insert the 10mm bolts and tighten. It takes a bit of effort, but it will pop into the rubber grommet and secure the corner.This will make the install easier. Note, it took a bit of effort to remove the OEM lights due to this pin.. 5. Instructions could use some modifications per the comments above.

Before everyone freaks out about the gap these headlights and other aftermarket headlights for the Durango have a secret adjustment plastic screw/bolt towards the bottom of the headlight housing that pulls the headlight into the body of the car for proper alignment, you spin the plastic that's attached to the screw and it adjust the unit. I've seen several people install these aftermarket headlights without adjusting the bottom point and it leaves massive gaps, which causes people to complain. Adjust all the adjustment points properly and they will sit flush. I've fixed several for people in the past. After the adjustment you may need to bolt the headlight in from under the car because the gap is much tighter.

These lights look good and the left light had a huge gap so I had to trim and it finally set in well and there are not as bright as what I was hoping and I am wondering if you are able to put HIDS or led headlights for the low and high beams

After having them installed, I feel there's some things buyers should be warned about. There is indeed a fitment gap, as others have pointed out, but a bigger issue in my opinion is the headlight's lackluster compatibility with the vehicles it was specifically designed for. If you want all the lights to work (unlike in this installation where they leave the high beam unconnected), then the only way to wire it is to have the parking light mode trigger the actual parking lights, the low beam mode trigger the low beams, and the high beam mode trigger the high beams, halos, and LEDs. Which means the halos and LEDs only come on when the high beam is on, which is somewhat dissapointing. But I payed big money on these expecting functioning halos and LEDs, so you better believe I'm gonna be driving around with my high beams on to have my halos and LEDs lit when I'm in the mood. (lol, now I understand why those ricers always do that). Still, they are the best looking 1st gen Durango headlights out there, even with that ridiculous flaw, so I'm content with them. But I'm not so sure every prospective buyer would feel the same. You've been warned.

I have these installed on my Dakota I can see at night a lot better than the original. And it looks nice

yes you can put HID's on the projector headlights as long as they fit inside the headlight.

The last part where you are mounting the replacement unit. The right hand side of each unit has a mounting pin that matches to a hole in the truck and the pin diameter is larger than the diameter of the hole in the truck.

I just got these lights from another supplier and I am wondering why you did not cover what to do with the several loose black and white wires. You don't even cover that in your instructions either. What are they supposed to be connected too? why didn't you cover that in your video or instructions?

thats how the truck is with the stock lights as well.

please watch our headlight adjustment video. But there should be screws in the back that you could adjust the headlight beam.

Hi... There is a gap in the headlight body. I see that there's a pin that doesn't have the body to click into the car's hole where its suppose to go. Could some one give me advice about this? ( I have a Dodge Dakota Sport 2004)

They didnt mention the pin in the right side of the light that you have to snap in, that would get rid of the gap if it was pushed in.

That outside most mounting pin the fixed one - The pin is larger than the receiving hole on the truck. Do you drill it out to allow it to fit the hole?

Do you need to drill that outside most hole to match the size of the pin in the replacement unit? The pin is larger than the hole will accommodate.

You wouldnt need to drill it. The hole should just widen as your screw it in.

I really do like these just bought a set for my Durango.but a set back very disappointed that they didn't fit right.gaps on sides and bottom s.and video or instructions really don't tell you anything about all the wire installation.

l have literally clicked on 3 videos for dodge dakota headlights and they are all the same video!!!

I may be wrong, but I'm preeeeetty positive they installed the headlight on the wrong sides which is why it looks upside down.

One of my halos have gone out, is the halo replaceable, I bought my Durango with the headlights installed so I have no idea about the brand or info on these kind of headlights

It would have been nice to know how poorly sealed the housing is they said they applied some silicone to it. But it was so poorly done the whole thing needs to be sealed. What they put on was not even in the crack it was a sloppy mess all over. a 1st grader could run a bead of glue better than that. It made it very hard to find a mechanic that would even touch them because they knew it was a botched headlight. I found one mechanic that will do it. I swear if it doest work for anything and I can't return them I will be extremely aggrivated. Hopefully this mechanic can work some Magic. I'm not trying to talk badly about the product just a few thing that could have been done differently. I love the look and really hope they work.

I don't like these head lights there trying to hard. I got some one pic head lights chrome and they look like 2010 ram lights. They look very good on my 1999 dodge Dakota I suggest u people look those up.
