This is an iconic performance. I absolutely love the showmanship of Jukka, Emppu & of course the beastly vocal contrast of Tapio & Tarja on this version.

Tapio, so thats the name of the male vocalist. Thank You so much for the info. And of course I can totally agree. It is a very complex "Tipical Tuomas" song, brilliantly performed by great and talented musicians.

@@bodresz Yeah, Tapio was also a big influence in why Tuomas even had the courage to present his demo of Nightwish to the people at the record company Spinefarm. The producer (Evo was his name I believe) was in USA on a tour with some band I believe, and they had a box of 600 demos. If the demo did not impress the producer within the first 20 seconds, they´d throw the demo out of the window of the bus. Tapio had to convince Tuomas for 3 hours to show the demo of Nightwish to the producer, and when Tuomas finally did, the Producer said "Let´s give it another spin" and after that "Yeah... I think we can work something out of this" and the rest is history :D Also when there were 200 demos left, Evo said "I´ve had enough of this" and threw the box of demos out of the window down a bridge. This story was told on the Nightwish documentary called "The end of innocence", which can be found on RU-vid.

At this time they were pretty happy together and just starting the global era and fame...and yes young. This was in 2000 after 3rd album and they started with demos in 1996...1997. And yes...Emppu shines in these early era songs with his guitar...he also composed some parts. You are right in 12:30. Check the whole concert....many people keep it still the best one even though we live now year 2023.

Thank you for being so honest. Kudos for that. 👏🏻 You are so right about the fake Reactors on RU-vid. Many of them just doing it for the views and for more subscribers. And many of them only react to Floor, because they are afraid of the Floor fans… And many Floor fans don’t want to listen to Tarja and start insulting the Reactor and Tarja. But don’t worry..there are also many Tarja fans like me…🤘🏻 So..keep on going. Best wishes

As a music lover, I like Tarja, Floor, Anette and other female and male singers almost equaly from very different aspects. There are so much talent especially in metal music. We have to be proud for that. I always say: I do not understand "cat or dog persons ... do You like animals or not? So simple is that. The reason if someone is taking care of a dog instead of a cat or vica versa is irrelevant, idc... But You shoul love animals. I hope everyone can see the meaning of this metaphore.

SInce we're beign honest here, I discovered them 3-4 years ago on reaction channels, and was hooked instantly, and ende dup buyign their whole catalog on CD. But I continued watching reactions to them, and grew weary of the same songs from the same show(s) reacted to, mostly driven by Floor fan comments, who really don't want reactors to listen to any other singer, or studio versions. And most Nightwish reactors follow that same "schedule" of songs to keep that base happy. Now I only watch reactions to the less popular stuff, i don't need to see a 200th reaction to GLS and Romanticide from Wacken. And Floor..great singer, but not beign a singer fanboy I'm not going to build a shrine with photos and candles to her in my bedroom. I appreciate great singing, but it's not my obsession, which is why I grew tired of the Floor obsession.

Oh I can totally agree with You. If I am able to go to a Nightwish, Tarja, Amorphis, Kamelot or whatever band I like concert. I will go and enjoy it. But its getting a little "bit" boring that we can all see about this NW trend. And of course the fake reactors just ruining the whole thing too.

A lot of reactors are not doing reactions because they love finding new music, they want subs. Because the Floor fanatics push her ahead of the band, the reactors all know to follow the script a.k.a "The General's list". Sadly you are correct in that a lot of these reactions are fake. They have either heard the song or are simply putting on a show to appease the NW "army" a.k.a. "Floor fanatics". Thank you for your honesty

Your honesty is very much appreciated. Having a fairly complete collection of Nightwish CD's, which I play in chronological order repeatedly, I could never do Nightwish reactions. As you say, they would be fake. I also appreciate that you dig up older, and less heard, songs like this one. I don't believe I've ever seen it before - well, in fact, I know I haven't, because I was surprised at that dude singing the growling parts. I really like your channel, Bodresz, you do a great job at breaking the songs down and pointing out the awesomeness for us.

Thank You David for the supportive words. I have to search for these songs, cause when I was younger, I have listened to Nightwish many times. But my absolutely favourite was the early work of Sonata Arctica. 😍 So I have to pick songs I did not heard before from those bands I know. I was once on an Epica show in Budapest 2009. Haha but I dont know the song titles that was played then by the band. 🤣 So if I do an Epica reaction... probably after a couple of seconds I will say: Ops, I have heard this before. And of course my friends have somewhat similar musical taste as Me. So even if I am not familiar with new bands, I can probably heard some melodies before.

Appreciate your honesty mate. 100% with you on that. Looks like I did the right thing, having subscribed to your channel a month ago or so. :) Spot on regarding this whole reaction thing. There is one guy at the moment who's really speedrunning it (Nightwish, Sabaton, Epica - you know the drill), lol. Nightwish seems to be a very nutritious fodder, reaction channels grow big on it. One thing that also annoys me are the Floor fans (and reactors who like, or pretend to like Floor) who neither know nor care about her work prior to Nightwish. There is, like, 2 ReVamp and 3 After Forever songs (which generate the most views) people normally react to, and that's it...

Ah yes, NW as the goto reactor channel start-up kit 😂 As to honesty.. Where's the fun in that? I mean, what's the point of stating the obvious i.e. telling ppl that most reaction channels are fake, as in catering to popular demand? Why waste time on those and why would this 'truth' hurt anyone who views this video? Also wonder how honesty would fare if the bulk of NW reactions had featured the good ole days with their first songster whose primacy effect might still influence his judgement. Take notice how he sides with a notable Floor hater over here. Appreciate the honesty of course, however self-serving and in spite of the childish whining abt things being 'unfair' (..). I am biased concerning Floor. That does not mean not to recognize Tarjas vocals. We have both and that is fine. And the reactor problem is existing but all theses people lose clicks immediately after the first run. I have seen a lot of reaction. And all the time a take a look to the duration of the video in comparison to the song. And many times you recognize somebody who loves the music immediately. please no generalising concerning the fans (and reactors).

The long name, is the name of the club, Tapio is a Finnish Metal legend about 6/7 years older then Tarja and Tuomas. Finland loves its metal!!

Hi, missed your video because im not looking for NW anymore but it shows up anyway. Love Your honesty and agree 100% with you. Stoped folowing them after end of and era. Untill that they where still somewhat metall and their best song is from that show with Nightwish in my opinion best vokalist Marko, high hopes. Yes their best song is the Floyd tribiute❤ love that one. As you say, how can enybody not have heard ghost love score? Then the army shows up and tells you what you should listen to with some stupid list. Nope i realy like your style and subskribed to your chanel. I can add some background. Tampere is a city in Finland. This concert recording way back in December 29, 2000. Samï on bass fired not long after and Marko joined them in 2001 Earliest footage with him is 2002 (that I have seen) not saying it is not out there, only what I know about. This is the original line up.with the 3 founders, Tuomas, Empuu, and Tarja. Samï and Jukka joined after. I read iirc that Emppu recorded the bass as well for the demo until they hired Samï. Tarja of course left in 05, Jukka retired ftom playing in 2014(?). Marko left in 2021. Marko has his history before and after nightwish. Tarja has 17 albums soon to be 18 with her 3rd this year being an unamed pubicly dark christmas album since going solo in 2007. She certainly has not been idle. Also having a family of her own so she is doing great. Marko and Tarja 1st Reunited a few years back for a national Finnish cristmas concert they were both imvited to perform at. This Saturday makes a 3rd , if my count is right after a festival in either Germany or the Netherlands, they did a duet. Fact Marko and Floor never did a duet of Phantom. But Marko and Tarja did their 2nd. I don't need to compare anyone to just point out these two have not been in the same band in 23 years. Were only together for 4 years. And people remember it still or discover them for the 1st time and fall in love with their music. We can admit they have staying power. They just work together so very well. I think we can call them a classic duo at this point. Now this permormance has them in range of 23 to 20 years of age. So much talent and so young. Mind blown.😮

This comment makes me think that person behind it has sick humor or is a moron. I like the sentiment, but posting the same spelling mistake teenager comment year after year is not doing Tarja any favors, on the contrary. Small thing that starts to irritate more and more. Have some respect towards Tarja and don't call her All HALE :D
