Lemmy wrote this song after watching a documentary series about the first world war on British television. Lemmy's version - with his raspy voice singing this moving song to a simple organ accompaniment. Being brought up in Yorkshire every village, town and city has a war memorial as well as my school had one in its lobby.

She was/is definatelly a beast in After Forever, then in Star One (Arjen Lucaddens project, later Ayreon), then Nightwish. She can reach out to everyone in a different way. My parents and I were at Nightwish concert at the end of 2022. 3 persons, 3 different experiences. But I always say Floor is not = Nightwish. Sadly most of the current fans on RU-vid often just talking about Her. I think it is one of the reasons why Marko Hietala left the band. It just got way too Floor-centered ... And what a surprise Marko is touring with not other then Tarja Turunen now. Coincidence? :D Oh and also Tuomas promised more guitar solos for old fans (haha, for real -> For Emppu, cause He felt way behind His bars/skills).

Really enjoyed your reaction and analysis. One of the things I love about Tommy so much is that he's always himself. He will adapt himself to songs so that they are respected, but he never tries to be someone else. If he had tried to "be" Freddie, what a disaster that would've been. Just found you today, hope to watch some of your other reactions. Cheers, Wulf

These guys are solid musicians. I think it's great for people who never got to see LP. It's a little weird with the exact appearance attempts, but it's a tribute band. Again, I think they're very talented. Singer has chops. There are some accent challenges, but to be expected. I think my only issue is that in their bio, they stated something like, "...we add our own unique elements and aren't copying.." That's a bit untrue. This is an exact clone in every way, shape, and form. If you're going to do what they're doing, you gotta just own it and say, "Yes, we are mimicking every single aspect of LP." Don't ever try to make it something it's not. What would be cool is if they were to start writing some original tracks. They could be amazing. I'm not sure I agree with the people who say, "Chester would be proud from heaven..." These lyrics were very personal to Chester, and the band. Chester went through a lot of horrible things in childhood. This cover band is profiting MAJORLY off of that pain and experience. Sorry if I sound like I'm hating. I do mean them the best, but I think this crosses the ethical line. But what do I know, perhaps they did the right thing and reached out to LP's management and asked for permission. They are likely making $50K+ at some of these arena shows, and that money should heavily be going to the estate of LP. Chester has 6 kids alone. Imagine if someone were to spend 20 years of their life writing, producing, recording, etc.. a movie.... , but the main writer dies. This movie was super personal about the writer's life experiences that no one went through but him/her, yet after the passed away, someone else came and copied it 1000000%. Not only that, they profited heavily from that person's very personal story. I hope you see where I'm going. This LP cover band will probably say that they're paying proceeds/royalties to LP, but they're not. The venues that you play at have a general license with ASCAP or BMI that pays a super micro amount for anyone covering a song. It doesn't matter if it's a band covering one song (which is normal) or a band who is completely and soullessly ripping off every bit of likeliness of a 6 piece band, it's still a micro-amount that the original owners, authors, and true talent would be getting. Again, sorry to be harsh. These guys are talented parrots, but that's where it stops. They are wearing every piece of clothing and style, copy and pasting the beginning of song samples, like with "Somewhere I Belong." It's not right. Dumb it down for a minute. Imagine you wrote a poem while at University. And that poem got picked up by the local news and website. It was a very personal poem about something that happened to YOU, that wasn't a good thing, during your childhood. You get paid some money for it. Then, you unalive yourself due to depression, as you are in so much pain. Then after you're dead, some random people steal your poem and write it for the Internet, word-for-word. Not only that, they wear your exact clothes and parrot you, find other people to look exactly like your friends, they use your name, (with a little note that says 'all credit to original author'), and they make $50,000 USD every time it gets posted, with zero money going to your family, who are without you due to the suicide. Do you see where I'm going? Sorry, but this is just WEIRD! These guys are getting rich by parroting a band who experienced great loss, with VERY personal lyrical content, sang by a guy who is trying so hard to mimic Chester, but rather poorly if you have an ear for music. The sounds is there a bit, but the soul is nothing more than a dollar bill. :(

@The_Mysterious_derpa 9 месяцев назад
Yes, this is like an empty shell of LP. The singer is okay, but I don't agree with the others saying he sounds exactly like Chester. Listen to Crawling in the clip in this video. It sounds NOTHING like Chester and has no soul. It is what it is, a cover band having fun and making a bunch of money. Meh...

Dont talk about something you dont know about! HT are a LP tribute band and to play LP songs (again, they are a tribute band, not cover band) as close as the originals and perform like the original LP, they have legal autorization! They pay whatever they have to pay, and get whatever they have to get! You dont know the legal terms, so keep quiet! To you and everyone that didnt like it, I just say: turn around, keep "walking" and dont stop... there is a big world outside, go find something you like and get a life!
@The_Mysterious_derpa
@The_Mysterious_derpa 9 месяцев назад
@@NunoCosta1984 Aww, sounds like someone from the band, or a friend of the band, is upset at someone giving their opinion. I wouldn't be replying at all, but you said, "...keep quiet..." and "...get a life..." Go watch the movie "Rockstar" and listen to how much they make fun of "WE'RE A TRIBUTE BAND, NOT A COVER BAND!!!" Alas, I agree with the OP, as well as your response, aside from the silly little comments you made. You've spoken very much as if you are in this cover band, a family member of one of these guys, or a friend of theirs. To make comments like, "they have legal authorization," means this is true. In that case, learn to take criticism, especially when parroting a famous band. The Internet should not be one big echo chamber.
@NunoCosta1984
@NunoCosta1984 9 месяцев назад
Again, you are wrong. Im not a member of the band, Im didnt know any member, or anything! I just want you to think first, before start spreading stup*d things. Example: Did you think that to make this kind of concerts, and not to be sued, they probably have legal autorization? This band starts around 2019 (if Im not wrong), and after 5 years and multiple concerts, they hadnt any legal problems... so, why ppl keep talking about money or profits? Let the legal issues for LP, HT, promoters, etc... just enjoy the music! Btw, if you dont know the diference between a tribute and a cover, I tell you: a cover its a way to play a song with a different arrangement, and a tribute its a way to replicate something and give the closest original experience.
@The_Mysterious_derpa
@The_Mysterious_derpa 9 месяцев назад
@@NunoCosta1984 Yes, a Tribute Band is a sad existence where you pretend to be one of the greats, in order to experience some of the actual artist's fame. It's sad really. I mean, hey, if there are people out there who actually want to see a bunch of guys pose as real rockstars, more power to them. Most tribute bands literally look at themselves in the mirror and play pretend, as if they're the actual artist. I'm totally confused as to why people would want to pay money and treat posers as if they were the actual artists, but there are literally thousands of Elvis Presley impersonators, so I guess I just don't get it. I'd rather not see the band if I missed out on them while together, than to see a bunch of guys pretending to be them and taking undeserved money, but more power to them if people are that shallow/hollow. Also, I'm literally not saying stupid things, as you like to say. That is your opinion, which is fine, but to question and challenge is to put those to the test. To answer your question: "Did you think that to make this kind of concerts, and not to be sued, they probably have legal autorization? This band starts around 2019 (if Im not wrong), and after 5 years and multiple concerts, they hadnt any legal problems... so, why ppl keep talking about money or profits? Let the legal issues for LP, HT, promoters, etc... " Not that you'll digest this, but I'll answer, as I've worked in the music industry as ADR, A&R, and other positions for 10 years now. There are multiple issues here. I'll list them: - "This band starts around 2019... and after 5 years they probably have legal authorization...So why people keep talking about money or profits? - So, issue #1... They are not US Citizens, where LP's citizenship and business are located. It is very difficult to deal with legality issues internationally, and it's expensive. There are ethical issues in question as well. Just because something may be not violating a law, doesn't mean it's ethical. To profit off of someone else's work is very divisive. IF, and that's a BIG IF, they reached out to LP's management at any point and got a "thumbs up, keep going bro" response, then props to them and even though I don't agree, they are morally sound. I doubt they did this. You bring up 2019... This is pre-COVID and a lot has changed. LP is a huge act, with a huge audience. When they first started, I'm sure they didn't get much attendance. Post-COVID, people have been dying to see music. Sadly, no one will ever be able to see LP again as a whole. Should LP decided to get a new singer, then awesome, and this cover band will likely see a massive attendance drop, outside of third world countries where LP would be unable to easily play a show. The reason people bring up money as this cover band has become quite successful in interesting locations, selling out to quite a crowd. I so wish they earned this right by writing their own songs and building their own brand. It's like actors and musicians who are born into a famous family. The offspring who enjoy the luxury of partaking in this privileged situation always question themselves as to whether or not they'd have been able to achieve their level of fame by their own hand. 99% likelihood that they would not have. I find it very sad to exploit a situation like LP's tragedy. But do you at least understand why there will be many people bringing up the money? That's the ethical issue. Chester's only ability to provide to his 6 kids is through the music that is still being bought and played. This cover band should honestly be paying 50% of their proceeds to the band and its estate. To do otherwise is morally unsound and theft in the eyes of the masses. If they sleep well at night knowing that they are literally stealing from the true artists, and their families, and likely making quite a good living, then that's between them and God, should their be one. You may not like my answer, but to say childish things like, suggesting that I "..thing first before spreading stupid things..." is pretty pathetic. If you can't see that my thoughts are well stated and positioned, then I think you might be the one saying stupid things and sadly has a man-crush on these puppets, likely because great music with international acclaim doesn't come from where ever you're from. I'm not coming back to this thread, so say what you will in your own echo chamber.

Some facts about the Runaway Music Video: It was shot (as far as we know) during January 31 to February 2, 2015. She was 18 at this time. She wrote Runaway at the age of 11-12 and finalized it at the age of 14 (for a school project, as she mentioned in an interview). The parts, where she wears the 'furry' top (it's actually sheep wool) are shot at the west coast of the Drange peninsula, less than a mile away from her parents house. The parts in the forest were shot in the same forest where she played as a kid very close to her parents house. The parts, in which she wears a thin white cardigan and with some trees in the near background and the island of Lysøya in the background, are shot actually in the backyard of her parents house in Drange.
