I was in the JCO house that you guys referred to as a “dust up.” It had nothing to do with Russian SFOR, as Mike alluded to. The attack on our house was orchestrated by Serbian paramilitary leader Vojislav Šešelj. Our house was located 4km from the border between BiH and Serbia, so we were an easy target. Additionally, we had at least three Serbian nationals employed as interpreters. They had plenty of info on us and our house which they obviously provided to Serbian paramilitaries.

Mike, I enjoyed watching this interview with you. Sorry to hear about the cancer and all you are going through. I remember the good times, being teammates with you in the Fulton Moore Gang, the hunting trip we had together. You were one of the original tough guys, and it was an honor to serve with you.

Also Mike talks about his addiction to drugs and alcohol. I don’t know when the started but if it started with the cancer, I’d like to say that’s very different than an addict. Yes, he’s physically addicted but it’s helping his life by killing the pain. Some could say what I’m saying is a two edge sword because many also use it to do the pain of emotions and in some cases, I think it’s better to be an addict for a while, rather than suffer with that emotional pain and take your life. I have been an addict and I’ve been working with addicts now for over 15 years. this is just my two cents but if he’s going through all of this treatment, I think he should be able to have all the opioids. He needs to stop the pain. Worry about detox after the cancer is killed and he is still alive.

Thank you for all you did while in the service. God Bless you Mike. One of my friends who I go fishing with and coffee each week was a Navy Captain, in Vietnam. He hauled Agent Orange up the Mekong River on an LST doing logistic support of Vietnamese operations. For years now, he's had cancer growths cut from his head and problems with his left eye. Again Mike, God Bless you.

Note: The SF mission in Bosnia was far from “driving around building rapport” and “driving around, drinking booze, building rapport” The knowledge of the mission was very well known for the 10th SF GB’s that had been involved in the Balkans since 96. As Mike said, he wasn’t abreast of BiH ops and had no roots in 10th SF. The SF mission is Bosnia, Kosovo, was critical and intel reports went directly to the SFOR Commander. No bust on Mike, as he admittedly said his knowledge of BiH operations was very limited, even as the Company SGM. If you want a good idea of BiH SF operations get somebody on the show that knows what actually took place. Ask any GB that’s been through ASOT what their TTP’s were based off of….JCO methodology…aka Bosnia SF Ops!
