Not only a Special Shanty of the Week with a great Shantyman and a colaboration with another Shanty singer, now everybody will go Bound away with the Dreadnought!!!
I've just recently started listening to Colm. Fella's got the chops and excellent range. Hearing his rendition of Hoist The Colors is Spine tingling. You two were a dream team and I wish for more collabs with you to...Please?
I love the collaborations with other online personalities! The Longest Johns were great, now Colm McGuinness too. I'd love to see more, they're awesome.
Great work, you both And another shanty i didn't expect, but nevertheless great Greetings from Germany Keep your heart's where they are And stay healthy in those troublesome times
I've been a subscriber of both channels for a long time, but wow I can't believe I never thought about a featuring beetwin you two! That was an awesome idea!!
I love "seeing" the layering of voices/instruments. It's such a pleasure to see the absolute skill required to have a singer(s) sound like a whole ensemble. Thank you!
I was confused at first because I only knew this song from when it was done by The Dreadnoughts. I suppose that it makes sense though since they also did a rock cover of Old Maui in that same album. Thanks for the introduction of another great artist to check out!
Colm's gushing about you is how I was introduced to your channel, so I've been longing for this collaboration for a while! You both are fantastic. And a great "unspecified duration" to you too, Sean lol
Colm has done a few Critical Role based shanties, one of which was a collab with another CR fan-song writer and singer, Chase Noseworthy. Of course more, especially if Sean wanted to, is always welcome.
Thank You and Colm for such a collaboration, that was a one with hard-to-find-nowadays vocal intonations, I hope a "modern listener" will enjoy as well )
I'm not a fan of his videos so much, but I really enjoyed him in this video. I think it has to do with his voice sounding more naturally edited in this video? Dunno.
Thanks so much for this song- at first Iwas thrown off by the intensity of this performance, but the more I listen to it I think its a great interpretation of ‘The Dreadnought’. Any chance of having it uploaded to the special guests album on bandcamp? I’d also love to learn how you found the lyrics and made your selection for verses- some of them don’t seem to be on any other recordings I can fond of this shanty.
