Do you not kill it first because the legs can hold you making you vulnerable to the chelae? I work on farms and I have more tolerance for practicality then most, but even I find it a little jarring you don't kill them first.

I am an avid hunter/fisher and I have caught may king crab inmy pots. Your approach to killing these crabs in terrible. inhumane.

Was disappointed to see the crab killed AFTER its legs were cut off. I love crab as much as the next person but they could dispatch it in a less cruel manner. Not happy to see the crab being cut up with rusty scissors.

Using the crab "brown" stuff to flavor the rice - That's absolute GENIUS ! Every true crab lover will tell you that the brown stuff is the tastiest part of the crab.. In my region of the world (France, Europe) I basically only get "Edible crab" or "Brown crab" (Cancer pagurus) which is cooked whole (boiled or steamed) and then usually hand picked when dining. Some people will discard the brown/yellow matter (some find it gross or disgusting) while others will start with it as it is the most accessible and for some the most delicate part. Mixing it with the rice is a brilliant idea !

Как-то пробовал краба в Египте. Честно сказать, на вкус так себе. Ничего особенного. Но вид, очень отталкивает. Осьминог намного вкуснее и на вкус как куриное мясо.
