The Caballo de Troya Saga is a collection of twelve novels written by Spanish journalist and writer Juan José Benítez López. These novels tell the story of the life of Jesus of Nazareth as witnessed by a 20th century time traveler. The books have been extremely popular in Spanish and have been translated into other languages. Although initially presented as a novel, the author has generated controversy by claiming that he was actually transcribing the legacy of a former and deceased U.S. Air Force serviceman, although his claims were not entirely clear.
The collection begins with Trojan Horse 1: Jerusalem, which chronicles the events that transpire between March 30 and April 9, 30. The second novel, Trojan Horse 2: Masada, continues the story from April 9 to 16 of the same year. The third novel, Trojan Horse 3: Saidan, evokes the early years of Jesus and his appearances after his resurrection.
The following installments, Trojan Horse 4: Nazareth, Trojan Horse 5: Caesarea, Trojan Horse 6: Hermon, Trojan Horse 7: Nahum and Trojan Horse 8: Jordan, continue the story of the Major's diary and delve into different aspects of Jesus' life and work.
Trojan Horse 9: Cana recounts the miracles and healings of Jesus from a particular point of view. Trojan Horse 10: The Day of Lightning, set in the past, present and future, answers questions left unresolved in the previous books and gives details about the later life of some characters. Trojan Horse 11: The Diary of Elisha. Confessions of the second pilot narrates the last two years of the public life of Jesus of Nazareth, which end in March 30 AD, thus closing the circle initiated in Jerusalem with Trojan Horse 1. Finally, Trojan Horse 12: Bethlehem, the last installment of the saga, is composed of pages deleted in previous volumes and narrates what happened during some months of the year 27, when Jesus flees from the persecution of the Sanhedrin and describes the main Jewish sects of the time.
